Journaling is a wonderful way to document your thoughts, memories and reflect on discoveries. But sometimes, it is difficult to get started. Might we suggest the variety of prompts available in the Wisteria Lane Collection? You can use sentiment stamps and stickers, journal cards, or the monthly journal challenge to ignite your journaling. In today’s post, our Creative Team shares how they jot down their thoughts with the help of their kits.
Casie used Wisteria Lane Collection to embellish sermon notes for future reference.
Here is a surprise for my fellow planner friends, I tend to overthink my layouts! Anyone else? This sermon notes page developed over time starting with a simple yet bold title using the large yellow alphas from the Wisteria Lane Planner Add-on Kit. I love the pop of yellow against the purples and blues of the page. After placing the title, I journaled sermon notes during church. I finished the page after church by adding tabs, arrows, and washi for embellishments.
I had two small instant photos so I started with two journal cards and two patterned cards. I used some multi-coloured patterns that I just love. That paint swatch!!! It’s my favourite, I am so glad it’s also a paper in the Wisteria Lane Collection.
I used the Here & Now journal card to write a bit about what’s going on. I couldn’t’ resist using some word strip stickers in there!
I also used a Quotable Moment journal card to add in a quote from the Lion King that I jokingly said to our little cat when she looked out the window in our new home It made me giggle. I added in some alpha stickers for a bit more colour and so that it balanced out the phrase stickers on the other journal card. The prompted cards in the Wisteria Lane Modern Memory Keeping Kitt make it so easy to add in some words! I couldn’t leave the photos unembellished. I added some simple stickers and chipboard bits to finish it up. Lots of colour, lots of words, it’s a memory-keeping success.
As I said, using a dashboard allows me more space to write. I like the fullness of the page, with a lot of writing. In this one, I also used square stickers from the Wisteria Lane Daisy Weeks Sticker Kit that I don’t use much.
To finish the page, I adhered to a decorative element from the Free Printables with stamping on top in black to add contrast. No space was left unutilized, including the smile sentiment stamped in the open white space.
