Sometimes when I get a kit I look at all the patterns and colors and individually, they can overwhelm me…what on earth would I create using pastel stripes or a sheet of pink polka dots? A little trick that I’ve discovered and actually try to use quite often is breaking up all those colors and patterns and put them all TOGETHER on a layout or project! It works!! As you can see here I opted to cut out a large title that I then fussy cut papers for the insides of my letters using all the different pretty colors and patterns. I kept the background paper pretty simple for a solid base and added little bits and pieces such as those adorable epoxy stickers, tags, twine and of course my journaling.

I really love how you can change up the feel of different papers when you simply decide to combine them and shake things a bit up by using things you maybe wouldn’t otherwise, use together.
