Fun With Tags and the Gather Collection

Hello, friends!
Have you ever used or created tags for your memory-keeping spreads? If not, we’d love to show a few ideas on ways to incorporate tags on your layouts. With their unique shape, tags make for a versatile embellishment and there are plenty to choose from within the Gather Collection. We asked our Creative Team to share a few ways to use tags in their designs, so let’s take a look and see what they created.
Marsha shows us just how great tags are a decorative element.
“Tags are one of my favorite embellishments to use on my projects, so I was happy to see lots of them in the Gather Collection.
I chose a grid design for the layout in my Gather Simple Dori and created my own tags at the top and bottom of the page by simply trimming patterned papers into tag shapes. I used the stamp from the Gather Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit onto the back of one of the die-cut tags and layered a die-cut word and puffy stickers for a bit of extra interest.
The chipboard tags were my favorites from the kits, and I added two of them to the layout, along with a trimmed phrase sticker and a floral die cut.
I kept the other side of the layout fairly simple using another die-cut tag at the bottom of the layout below my photo.
I added typed journaling onto a pocket card and slipped it behind the photo. I love how my layout turned out using lots of tags from the Gather Collection!”
Tags can make a great foundation for decorative clusters, as Aimee shows us in this layout.
“The Gather Collection provides a ton of options for documenting gratitude and I for one am grateful that my kiddos are such great friends. I chose my favorite photo of them at the pumpkin patch and a few of the patterned papers from the Gather Modern Memory Keeping Kit to use in my Gather Simple Dori.
I decided to make the right side of my layout a real statement by using a beautiful blue chipboard tag layered with some adhesive die cuts. I made my own title on the tag by stamping directly onto the chipboard with the stamp from the Gather Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.
I liked the look of that so much that I mimicked it on the opposite side as well— making a beautiful tag at the bottom of the page using the stamp set and some color coordinating ink! I took it a step further by building up a really fun cluster around my tag with chipboard pieces and beautiful pearl enamel dots!
After completing this layout I’d like to say I am also grateful for tags! They’re so fun and versatile. We can’t wait to see what you create with them!”
