Hello Daisies! It’s Kelly here, and today we are going to focus on some of the fun products that are in the April kit. The kit is filled with lots of graphic and whimsical pieces, and it really is hard for me to choose a favorite! The colors are perfect for spring, and while several of the embellishments have a domestic flair to them, this kit can certainly be used in other ways.
First off is Wendy and she chose to highlight some of the more busy and colorful papers. Wendy trimmed the chevron paper to allow the design to point to her photos, and then flipped the cut piece over to show all of the colorful triangles of the other side. Bringing in a small section of the triangle paper further leads your eye to the photos, plus it introduces several bright colors without overwhelming the page. The fun die cuts from Pretty Little Studio were great additions to the wild, whimsical, and colorful feel of the layout.
Next up is Janet who chose to focus on the arrow word stickers by Pretty Little Studio. Her card is so sweet and I love how she made a sentiment by stacking the words together. This is such a fun idea and of course the sweet pup is the perfect touch.
Finally, on my layout I focused on mixing the die cuts from the Simple Stories line, with the stickers from the Pinkfresh line. On first glance you may not be sure how to work these in together since one has a more whimsical feel and the other is more graphic. I find that if I focus on one main embellishment first, that I can find others that work with my layout.
I also wanted to show that the house die cut can creatively be used in other ways. My daughter is a softball player, and is catching for her school team after not being behind the plate for four years. I fussy cut the word home from a cut-apart sheet, and added the Simple Stories yellow house die cut to play up on my title. Incorporating the Pinkfresh puffy stickers and word stickers was easy at this point. Many of the phrases can be used in a variety of layouts. This layout is an example of how beautifully this kit works together. I have an exclusive paper and products from each of the lines in the kit. I love being able to incorporate different manufacturers on the same page!
I hope that we have inspired you with this kit. Don’t forget to post your creations to the gallery or the Facebook group! The Design Team loves to see what subscribers are creating, and we get inspired from you as well. Have a wonderful and creative week!
