Seeing the World from a Different Angle – November 2017 Sketch Inspiration

Hey Daisy fans! Suzanna here today to share with you this month’s sketch and some sketch inspiration! I love designing these sketches each month and seeing what the rest of the team does with the sketch. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, each month we have the same sketch and the same product to design with and each month it BLOWS me away how vastly different each of these layouts turns out. It’s SO cool.

First things first, the sketch. We all worked from the same sketch as our starting point.

This is what I created with my sketch

I used some mixed media to change up the background a bit and adapted the sketch to fit the photo I wanted to use. I angled to keep the diagonal as it is, but had to change the title placement in order to keep the proportions to that of the photo. I used the packaging from the poinsetta’s as a journal card in a glassine bag. I love the way that this gave me an added texture to the layout. Here is my process video and how the layout came together.

Traci was the first to finish so I’ll share hers next! Traci used the gold stars and red gems to create another diagonal line that almost create an “X” to draw your eye to the center of the page and the fun family photo! Her doodling around the photo adds another fun element! Traci has a process video of how her layout came together and you can find that here; https://youtu.be/GVMdWpYsxFc

Moon was one of the last of the team to get her kit yet look at this amazing interpretation of the sketch that she created! Moon changed up the angle on her layout and used three photos to tell her story! More gold stars! I think I see a theme!

Marie has so much going on here in her interpretation of this month’s sketch! So many goodies surrounding that darling photo!

Wendy has a different interpretation of the sketch. Here is what she has to say about her project; So you know how sketches are jumping off points? Well I jumped! I love where this page landed, I was so inspired by the one picture and half and half look, but as I was trying papers, this just became the page and the products just jumped on the page! When the mojo is flowing you go. So thank you Suzanna for an amazing sketch that totally inspired this page.

I love how Brooke used the 12×12 sketch to create a letter sized layout! She still has that angle and the horizontal component of the photos. It’s interesting how she has the words on the patterened paper running vertical instead of horizontal, it’s like falling snow. A very interesting play there with the movement of the page.

And that, my memory keeping friends, it this month’s sketch and LOADS of inspiration of how one can play the sketch game! I hope you angle to play along and are inspired to angle your papers and play along! Thanks for joining me this month!

Happy scrapping!
