Designers Challenge – Enjoy the Everyday

Hi, it’s Lisa here today with this month’s Designers Challenge.

My challenge is all about enjoying the every day photos. Not all the photos we take are perfect. They aren’t all staged and posed for. Every day life is not like that. Quite often the moments that we want to capture happen all of a sudden and after a quick snap shot they can be dark or out of focus or just not quite a perfect as we would like. This doesn’t mean though that we don’t scrap the story. So this month, let’s get those stories scrapped with the not so perfect photos.

They may not be the best photos but you’ll be pleased after that the story has been documented.
I would love to see your slightly boring/odd/dull/out of focused photos on bright and happy LO’s.

Mine was a photo taken at the cinema.
Not the best photo but I wanted to document the story.

Suz is joining me with this challenge. She has made such a fun and creative LO this month. It just makes me smile. This is what Suz has to say about her page.
I used a photo of my son that a friend of his posted on social media after she had commented and doodled over the image. This layout is in more of a whimsical style than I usually do, but the topic of my layout and the photo itself were begging to be scrapped in a fun way! My youngest son has always received a lot of attention and has been come to be defined by others by his hair/hairstyle wigs from addcolo. (When he was little, it was the whitest blonde! As he has grown it has darkened some, but it hasn’t stopped the girls and other people from commenting on it.) So, when he finally decided to chop his locks off, it was kinda a big deal. One of his theatre “girl” friends posted this photo on Instagram and Facebook. (I love that she drew a devil and angel on each side of him-Too funny!) Anyways, I decided to make a graveyard scene, complete with ground fog (clouds cut out from this month’s exclusive and amazing patterned papers) as well as a red (Because who says gravestones have to be grey?) gravestone and starry night abstract background. I then used my vintage type to journal the sentiment that his friend had posted on the IG post. Super fun page to put together!
I just love the thought and story behind Suz’s. It’s different and fun. So what story and what not so perfect photo(s) are you going to scrap???
Doris also played along with us this month.

My son and I adored this movie and couldn’t stop talking about it. I also want to scrap every picture I get of the two of us together, especially now that he’s getting older. Since it wasn’t a stellar photo to begin with, I gave myself free reign to play with it in Picture Show. Picture Show is a fun iPhone app that allows you to add vintage film camera filters such as frames, color washes, light leaks, and distressing. I rarely use it with good quality photos, but if the photo’s not great, why not play with it a bit?
You have until Tuesday 30th June to play along. Please add a link to your gallery here. 1 lucky winner will be picked and will receive a $10 gift card to spend in the Daisy Store.
Enjoy!!
