Documenting those Fall Days – It’s Challenge Time!!

Hi it’s Lisa!! I don’t just have a challenge for you today, I have a blog post about Fall and how we document it.

Today I am using my October Kit (has your’s come yet??!!) to remember a wonderful Fall afternoon. What do you think of when you think of Fall? For me it’s all about the leaves. Those beautiful colour changing, falling leaves. So my challenge this month is to create a LO, card, pocket page, journal or planner page…whatever you choose…using leaves.

The October kit has plenty of them. Paper, stickers, chipboard, stamps…..I used some of these on my page here and I also created some of my own. You don’t have to use the kit though to play along.

My LO here isn’t the classic Fall that we imagine here in England. This was taken on an October afternoon in sunny Florida. So beautiful. I cut out some trees from the Echo Park paper in the Main Kit and I also created some leaves from another sheet of the Echo Park paper like this.

I really liked the different designs on this piece here, so I folded it over each time so I could cut a symmetrical leaf. I kept the fold in the middle and just stuck each leaf in place using a little pva glue along the fold. Then once dry I stitched along the centre of each leaf like this.

I kept the leaves folded up a little. I really like how this looks. It really adds some good depth to the page. I did also think about hand cutting some leaves and documenting inside each one. I might give that a go too.

I also wanted to share with you a card that Suz has made us for this challenge.

Suz always makes the most beautiful cards. She has used some of the stamps here. Look how she created that heart. It’s so pretty. A little work of art.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog post today and I hope you join us with this challenge. You have until Tuesday 1st November 11pm EST to play along. Please leave a comment with a link to your creation or join us on the message board here. One lucky winner will be picked and will receive $10 to spend in the Daisy store. Good luck!

I love your idea of “stitching” a vein on your leaves. That is a really great personal touch! You mentioned England … Is that where you’re from? I’m from New England and the trees are JUST beginning to turn there. Talk about a combination of incredible colors! This is just the start of the most beautiful time of the year there!
