Get ready for a new monthly feature – Simple Dori Saturday. Since our Simple Dori is unique to Cocoa Daisy, we thought it would be fun to create a post each month to celebrate it! We have three eye-catching spreads from our Creative Team using the My Escape Collection for today’s post.
April color matched her photos with her embellishments in this bright and cheerful spread.
I tend to use black and white photos because I love how embellishments pop against them; however, I had fun matching color photos with stickers and paper from the My Escape Collection for this layout.
I used the My Escape Simple Dori Travelers Notebook patterned page as inspiration and went with the color rainbow-ish color scheme. I used several embellishments from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit including the small tags, puffy arrows, die cuts, and enamel dots.
A fun, fast page highlighting summer goals and fun.
Here in Italy, we have not yet returned to travel and many recreational activities are still closed so this month my photo gallery was filled with photos of nature and flowers. This, in particular, is a plant from my garden but it has colors that do not match the papers of the month. Luckily there are many other embellishments to use in the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.
I printed the photo in a large format and combined it with a title stamped with the beautiful alphabet from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. Between the photograph and the title, I inserted the washi and around it some small stamps and rub-ons from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
I kept the embellishment simple on the photo by adding 2 stickers, rub-ons and die cuts with the date. I love the versatility of the kits, they match any project.
Odessa celebrates a little adventure in her Simple Dori.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever been so excited to document something in a Simple Dori Traveler’s Notebook. After a long cold winter we just got back from our first camping trip of the year and while it was a little chilly it was just so great to get outside! So, of course, I’m working on a little Traveler’s Notebook mini album using the My Escape Collection.
I just got an instant photo printer so I used it to print out a photo for the layout. I always love vellum so I started my layout by taping the vellum from the Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit into my Simple Dori. I stuck my photo down and started working around it. When I start a layout I go through all the die cuts and pick out some that would work well so I have a curated selection to pull from. I arranged some of those embellishments along with some cute stickers above and below the photo. Fun fact, the little geotag on top of the photo is roughly where we were camping!
Then I had to figure out how to add some journalling. This page is the first one in my TN so I wanted a general overview. I had put a couple of tags from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit down on the page and liked how they looked so I made a strip of them down the page to journal on. I added a date circle die-cut from the TNMK and started to plan my journalling.
The alpha outline stamp set from the Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit might have been one of the things I was most excited about in the kit so I used it to start my journalling. I’m really into mixed-up journalling right now and used a combo of stickers, rub-ons, alpha stickers, die cuts, phrase stickers, and my own handwriting to get it all down.
I really like the way it turned out! Now to print some more photos and finish up this travel journal.
