Hey crafty ones! Today I am sharing a sketch I created for a traveler’s notebook spread. You can easily incorporate the ideas into your 12×12 layouts, pocket pages, or however else you document!
Here is the sketch! The circles on the left side are meant to mimic ornaments. So let’s see this done with actual crafty goodies.
This holiday season I have been OBSESSING over all the gnomes. My husband and I ended up buying a whole family of them except this big ol’ one. I still had to snap a picture with this cutie and document it.
The photo played a huge role in inspiring me to create this sketch. I loved how the Christmas trees were in the background so it didn’t quite look like we were at HomeGoods. The Christmas trees in my photo inspired the paper ornaments. I used my Silhouette to cut them but you could easily just trace something circular and cut it that way. I then used a rule to sketch in the lines and drew little bows to make them look like they were hanging on my page.
I layered a tag in the background with some paper scraps. Then I used one of the chipboard stickers for an added dimension. The title in this layout gets me everytime—”Hangin with my Gnomies”
Check out how gorgeous Robin’s layout came out from this sketch!
I LOVE the little stars she added onto the page, adds such great detail. I also love how she layered not one, but two tags. And that glitter border around her photo just makes it pop even more.
And this stitching!! I am always amazed when people stitch on their layouts because I just don’t have the patience. Yet, Robin did it so stunningly on this page.
I love how we both used the “All the twinkle lights” banner yet for two totally different pictures. That goes to show that you have to make your kits work for you.
Not documenting the holiday season? No worries! Kylie took a totally different twist on the sketch and I am loving it. She used October’s kit and did fall flowers instead of ornaments. She also did a mirror flip of the sketch. Again, a prime example of making it all work for you.
If you feel inspired to take on this sketch, which I hope you do! Don’t forget to share your creations on the Cocoa Daisy Memory Keeping Facebook page and on Instagram, don’t forget to tag Cocoa Daisy!
BONUS! Watch me scrapbook my layout over on my YouTube channel.
Until next time!
