Hello!! It’s Lisa here today. I’m here to welcome you to our first ‘Inspiration Tuesday’ post.
We have decided to take a fresh new approach to our team challenges. We will now be offering you team inspiration posts. We will be getting together as a team each month and coming up with creative ideas to get you recording those memories of your’s.
A really popular question that we as designers get asked is ”How do I get started?’ and ‘Where did you get your inspiration from?’. So this is where we will be stepping in. We will be providing you with the inspiration to get you started. We will share with you some team examples to show you where the inspiration has lead each of us and maybe some tips along the way too.
The great thing about these inspirational prompts is that you are free to create however you wish. If it’s just an initial idea that gets you started and you end up doing something completely different, that’s wonderful. Go with it!! Sometimes a little idea is all it takes to get us kick started.
We would then love you to share with us what you have made. We have a Facebook Group here where you can share your work . Or if you are on Instagram please use the hashtag #cocoadaisyinspiredme .
Team member Wendy is starting us off this week. Here is her layout. It’s adorable!
As we head in to Fall, we start to want that cozy feeling. Nothing quite like a cozy blanket to wrap around you in the evening as you snuggle up. For this inspirational post, we are snuggling up our photos. Surrounding them with papers, embellishments, titles and journaling.
Wendy says: ”The starting point this week is to build a layout around your picture; fully incorporate your picture into the layout. You could think of building a scene, or maybe cutting out your photo so that it becomes a part of the papers, … or however you interpret it! I chose to go big with my picture, but then instead of using the full picture I fussy cut the flower/leaf design and had the tree come out of it almost as if it was apart of the scene”.
I really love how Wendy surrounded her photo within the design. Not only using the big floral paper, but also creating the sub title on the doilee above.
Katherine also joined in and created this layout here.
Katherine has taken a regular sized photo here and matted in on a couple of the patterned papers from the kit. She’s created a little cluster on the right corner by cutting out some leaves from the Cocoa Daisy paper and adding other pieces from the kit. I like how she’s added her title to the photo itself really making the photo part of the layout.
And finally my example.
For me, it was all about those large leaves from that same Cocoa Daisy paper that Katherine just used. That paper stole my heart this month! I’ve printed off 3 small photos for my layout and cut out lots of the large leaves. I’ve layered the leaves around my photos, some under and others over to really pull the design together. I was really pleased with how this came out.
So now it’s over to you…..
Please let us know if you feel inspired. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know if you like this new approach. We would love you to join in with us. Remember to use the hashtag #cocoadaisyinspiredme so we can see your creations. It doesn’t have to be 12×12 pages like what we’ve made, let the inspiration take you wherever you choose. It’s all about the creating and memory keeping after all. As these posts are her to inspire you, there are no rules & no deadlines.
Enjoy!!
