Hello Daisies! Janet Perafan-Babar along with Sarah King with the January Product Focus. When does fussy cutting become no-fuss? When you’re playing with January’s Buttercup Kit! The Scrapbook Kit is so gorgeous and what I loved the most? All the beautiful papers. When I opened my box, I was immediately drawn to the floral prints and thought, how great would it be to fussy cut those roses out? Now, I am definitely not a fussy cutting pro, but the large prints looked easy enough for a beginner like me to want to run for my scissors.

I know you fussy cutting pros out there be cutting like Edward Scissorhands, doing phenomenal, intricate designs with your scissors. Certainly wish I could too. For now, I’m doing basic. So to my newbie friends, here are a few tips for you to get started as well. First and foremost, use good, sharp scissors. When you select your area to cut, start by cutting around the area before you actually get into the details of the image. Cut with the blade, not towards the tips. This will give you less jagged, and a more cleaner cut.  Finally, remember to rotate your image, not the scissor, as you cut. Makes a huge difference!!

Here is Sarah’s beautiful page using the Pink Paislee’s Moonstruck papers. The roses were cut from Paper 02 and used to accent her frame. What an amazing job with those petals!! Look closely, she also cut out the “shine bright” phrase from one of the squares in Paper 09. Clever!

Here is mine, using the Cocoa Daisy Buttercup Exclusive Paper, Juicy. I fussy cut the watercolor leaves and flowers, trimming a dark border around each one. Used the large flowers to surround my photo frame, then smaller pieces to tuck and layer. Other cuts were used as accents on the rest of the page:
