June Memory Keeping Guest Creator Recap | Ettiene Rickels

Ettine joined us this month and created four wonderful memory keeping projects using our Koi Pond collections. Take a look at each project, in detail, below. We are certain you will find some inspiration!

Project 1- week 34 project life
For this spread I loved how the oranges and blues of the kit matched my photos of my photos from last summer. I often post my photos to Instagram and they get saved with the text to my phone. I like how this created a pop of black and white. I carried this through with my stamped numbers and my stamping on the sunshine/good times card. I also added an additional pop of white with the puffy words. This spread has a lot going on but I think these neutral colors helped to keep some consistency as you look through.

You can recreate this look using the Cocoa Daisy Traveler’s Notebook Memory Keeping Kit!

Project 2 – storm king art center
I really was drawn to the idea of making an interactive spread using the folders in the classified kit as soon as I opened my box. I didn’t have an immediate subject but also felt drawn to the nature theme in the kit and decided to document our trips to the local art center through the seasons. The three tags were perfect for summer, fall and winter.

If you’re looking to add that extra touch to your memory keeping projects, check out the Memory Keeping Classified Kit; it has extra embellishments, like BIG tags, that you can add to your projects.

Project 3- day trip
I have about a zillion project life cards and are always looking for new ways to use them. This day trip card made the perfect title. I also used another set of cards to make a flap to hold my journaling and more photos on the right side of the spread. For the stamping I masked off a rectangle in the middle of the page and did stamping in a rainbow of colors to match the kit. I then went back over with the small dotted stamp in black to add additional interest. For me stamping doesn’t have to be perfect. I think the imperfect alignment helps add a handmade look to the page.

Project 4 – boat season/ enjoy the sunshine
Travelers notebooks are one of my secrets of having fun creating while not feeling the pressure to document the big moments. They are perfect for small snippets of your month and feel easy to me. For the boat season layout I am documenting a moment I’m really proud of of docking the boat all by myself in the rain. These types of photos make me happy but I wouldn’t necessarily want to take up a ton of room in my other albums. For the enjoy the sunshine layout I loved playing with layering the stamp sets and the puffy stickers. Large photos really help this layout come together quickly.
