Join us as we welcome our June Guest Designer, Ginny Hughes, to the blog today. Ginny has a great graphic style, and knows how to add the perfect extra touch. We have enjoyed working with her so much this month and invite you to leave some love in her Walden Pond gallery.
Hi everyone, my name is Ginny Hughes and I am thrilled to be the Guest Designer for Cocoa Daisy this month. I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years, since way back when I only had 2 kids, now I have 5. Yep, plenty of scrapbooking material around my house. I do a healthy mix of traditional layouts & pocket page albums. I love experimenting with paint & ink and stamping, stamping is my fave especially alphabet stamp sets. I have been fortunate enough to have been on several Design Teams throughout the years and I have taught classes at Studio Calico and Big Picture Classes. I love this hobby & I can’t imagine my life without it. I have met so many amazingly kind and talented people through scrapbooking and that is seriously the best part.
We love to get to know our Guest Designers better, so we have them fill out a questionnaire. Here are Ginny’s answers:
1. What is your most creative time? Mornings for sure. Unfortunately little things like work & getting the kids off to school get in the way.
2. Share your current top 5 favorite songs/music groups with us. The Avett Brothers, Ryan Adams, Adele, The Lumineers & Chris Stapleton.
3. If you were in a Rock N’ Roll band, what would your job be? I would love to design the artwork, like posters for the shows. Hatch Show Print in Nashville is one of my favorite places and I love their letterpress posters.

4. Did you ever want to change your name? If so, to what? Nope, pretty happy with my name 🙂
5. If your life was a movie, what actress would play you? This is a hard one! I guess I would pick Julia Roberts, because who doesn’t want to be Julia Roberts??
6. What’s your favorite accessory? Handbags. I stay pretty neutral in my clothing choices, but I love a colorful handbag.
7. If your life were a novel, what would the title be? Settling In. Now that my kids aren’t babies anymore I feel like life isn’t such a whirlwind. I feel like we are getting comfortable and settling into this life of ours.
8. What was your first job and how did you get it? Working for the local newspaper in the evenings taking calls from the people who didn’t get a paper that day. That must really show my age 😉

9. What food would describe your style? Mexican, which also happens to be my favorite. Basic ingredients with a little spice.
10. What is “dressed up” for you? Ballet flats and a cardigan with jeans. That is dressed up & dressed down for me. I wear the same “uniform” every day.
