I was looking at the December Daily tags on Instagram last year and found one designer’s work that just kept intriguing me. I contacted her to see if she’d like to to join us as a guest designer for the upcoming year, and this is the result. Please welcome the very talented Deb Campbell to Cocoa Daisy. Deb’s work is a fresh take on the clean and simple style and I knew she’d make our kits shine. I’m sure you’ll agree with me when you check out her gallery for South Beach, it’s amazing! And we happen to have a few extra South Beach kits still in the store, don’t be sad you missed out! Order now!
Hi! My name is Deb Campbell and I am super excited to be here this month! I was born and raised in South Louisiana, the youngest of eight children. I have been journaling in some fashion since my early elementary years. I began ‘scrapbooking’ around 4th grade by cutting and pasting magazine pictures into old-fashioned black-paged scrapbooks. By helping my mom put our large family’s photographs into albums complete with a record book that outlined what was contained in each album, I realized the value of telling your story and had the desire to photograph and document my own. When my first child was born, I moved into more decorative scrapbooking, but have always been more focused on photos than embellishments. In 2013, I found pocket page scrapbooking and have been totally in love with this style of memory keeping ever since. Currently, I live in Central Louisiana with my husband, three children and two cats. I love photography and making handmade cards and all the bunnies on Instagram…it might be something of an addiction I have 😉 I homeschooled all three children and since they are on the verge of being grown and gone, my day-to-day life is changing focus. I have more time now to work with my photos and pretty papers and learn new techniques. You can find me on Instagram at www.instagram.com/lidohdee/ and Pinterest www.pinterest.com/lidohdee/
Here’s a sneak of the beauty in Deb’s gallery, what a perfect kit her time at Fort Walton!

When is your most creative time?
I am not much of a morning person, and am a creature of habit. I like to go through my morning routine of getting certain things done for the day, so my most creative time is in the afternoon when I am free mentally to play. -
How do you unwind?
With a cup of tea, or on Fridays with a margarita 😀 -
If you were in a Rock N’ Roll band, what would your job be?Probably bass guitar – I love bass and it was my favorite instrument on RockBand!
-
What is your guilty pleasure?
Oh, dark chocolate, with raspberries, definitely.
-
If your life was a movie, what actress would play you?
Sigourney Weaver – I just wish I was that badass…
-
What’s your favorite accessory?
Favorite accessory would be a draw between jackets and bracelets. I am usually always wearing both. -
If your life were a novel, what would the title be?
Wait, I’ve Made It Too Complicated! ~A Beaver’s Guide to Life
-
What was your first job and how did you get it?
A local department store as a sales clerk, walked in, filled out an application and got the job.
- Share three of your bucket list items with us.
Okay, so bucket list is hard for me…I’m not much of a bucket list person, but I would go with:
Have all my digital photos organized and all photos (digital and film) scrapbooked
Own a Canon white L series lens 🙂
Have time to take weekend driving excursions in my Mini Cooper with my husband and Canon 70D (who is named Thor, BTW) - What is “dressed up” for you?
A nice pair of jeans, a snazzy jacket, some fun boots or flats, and for makeup: mascara, blush and some tinted lip balm on my lips.
Thank you so much for joining us this month Deb, we’ve really enjoyed getting to know you and your work!
I love your book title, Deb! I can’t wait to see your projects!
