Hello Cocoa Daisy friends,
Our theme today is traveler’s notebook designs with cut files. Let’s jump right in with Evy’s amazing butterfly design. She is using a free Paige Evans cut file.
Evy explains, “The cut file I chose was created for the 12×12 format but I am adapting it to the travelers notebook format. This is very easy to do, but if you have problems doing it, please leave a comment below and I will help you.”
“After cutting out the background with the butterflies I inserted several pieces of papers left over from other layouts underneath, I colored the wings of the butterflies with watercolors.”
“I didn’t want to cover this beautiful background with photos or too many embellishments so I inserted die cuts in the center that acts as a title, I wrote the caption along the left edge and stamped the date.”
“And finally, I cropped the photo separating the flower from the background and assembled in the right corner.”
“I find that the end result reflects spring a lot, don’t you think?”
We love that Evy is showing an uncommon way to use a photo and journaling in her Simple Dori Traveler’s Notebook design. It’s so lovely to see the design in the center and all the documenting on the edges. We thought you might like to see how her TN looks closed after she added this layout.
It’s a little plump but that bit of density makes Evy’s TN even more interesting and unique!
Our final TN Tuesday share is the opening layout in my COVID-19 mini album. It’s a reminder to stay positive! I took the Simple Dori in the Orchard Path TN kit apart and used the grid page as my background for the design.
Next I chose a very simple ticket cut file that had numbers 1-3 “punched” out. Three of each ticket were cut to create a tiny bit of depth with the numbers.
Before I cut the tickets I fussy cut the some leaves from a planner paper to embellish the numbers. I finished off the design with enamel dots, thread, and phrases from a stamp in my stash.
I love this reminder to be positive!
We have noticed an increase of cut files for the TN in the Memory Keeping community which are a great way to use our kit papers. There are also many non-TN sized designs that can be adapted to the TN too. We hope you have been inspired to try a cut file with your Memory Keeping documentation. Please share your ideas and memory keeping with us in the Cocoa Daisy Fans Facebook group or by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media.
