Hello and yay for Friday!!!
Today we are celebrating flowers and looking forward to Spring on the blog. Some of today’s designs are using items form the Orchard Path kits from Cocoa Daisy. But we still have lots of sweet ideas from the Love Notes kits to share and so we begin with a beautiful layout by Candy.
“If you knew me, you’d know how much I love flowers. Here’s a “before the pen” layout in my Hobonichi. I love using my scrapbooking supplies to embellish the pages in my Hobonichi that I use mainly for memory keeping / journaling.”
“I chose a journaling card, added a bunch of the florals from the kits to create a frame around the card, then added hearts to finish the look. Scrapbooking or memory keeping doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult. It can be fun and easy. Just remember to enjoy the process.”
Beautiful design and such great advice from Candy. We are always delighted by the versatility of design across kits that out DT shows us with our themes and challenges. Next we have a lovely Happy Planner Memory Keeping design set-up for March by Kristine.
“For this spread, I deviated from my usual alternating deco pattern to a more cohesive design that stretches across both pages.”
“The scalloped vellum is the perfect complement to the new adhesive die cut florals, and the two floral washis set it all off beautifully.”
“I’ll use the top row for photos and the bottom row for journaling. I can’t wait for March!”
We are looking forward to seeing the full layout after Kristine fills it in next month. It’s going to be amazing! Up next is an Orchard Path TN layout by Jil.
“I was pleased that the peachy flowers in the kit matched the bouquet in the photo I chose to tell my story. I created my title, “Winter Cheer,” by using part of a die cut and the alphabet stickers from the kit. The gorgeous floral paper from Orchard Path on the right is balanced by plain kraft paper on the other side and under my journaling tag (which comes from this month’s Memory Keeping Classified Kit).”
“Under my photo I’ve stacked and layered floral washi tape, a label sticker, and die cuts. I used the rubber embellishments in this cluster and with my journaling. I just love the texture and beauty they add! Next to my journaling I stamped a sentiment and used the cute little date stamp on my label on the right. More stamping mingles with the diagonal line of glitter dots and ink splatters that run between the two sides of my spread.”
“There’s so much goodness in this lovely kit, and I was glad to be able to use quite a lot of it on this page celebrating the cut flowers that remind us flowers will soon be blooming in our yards again!”
The final design for today is a layout in my 52 Favorites album about the roses my husband gave me for Valentines Day. He’s not a big romantic and so these flowers were quite a surprise!
I love the stamps in the Orchard Path Memory Keeping kits. They are oh so elegant and feel like the perfect way to add that final point of the triangle while ensuring the flower photo remains the focal point of this story.
We hope you enjoyed today’s focus on flowers and we look forward to seeing what you create! Please tag us on social media with @cocoa_daisy to share.
Wishing you a crafty filled weekend!
