Greetings!
Today on the blog we are introducing new Me .org Keeping Design team member Melina Wray-Pylant. Melina is sharing a few things about herself and will be focused on the Traveler’s Notebook medium. Ow let’s take a look at Melina’s design with washi tape and ribbon from the Nordic Woods kits.
“Hey! Hey! My very first blog post as a Cocoa Daisy Design Team Member! I’m so excited!
I’m Melina from Alabama. I go by mecraftyscrapper on Instagram and Melina Pylant on YouTube. I’m married to my bestie, Brandon and we have 2 teenage kiddos, Aaron and Bethany and 1 heavenly angel. We have a little Yorkie yapper named Peanut. We are a Ministry family and are on the go constantly so when I can get a few minutes or an hour in my craft room, that’s a really good day.
My love of paper crafting began very early in life when I was given my first diary. It was one of those with its own secret box and a lock. I thought it was the grandest thing. In 1999 after my husband and I had our 1st wedding anniversary, I was invited to a scrapbooking party and was hooked. Seeing all the different papers and embellishments for 12×12 pages to pretty up those pictures…..I mean it was an awesome new concept to me. So of course when I found that journaling went along with all the decorations, I found a new love. I also love making cards, junk journals and filling traveler’s notebooks with journaling, little pictures and bits of everyday life.

I’m documenting December in my simple dori this month. This TN layout uses both the beautiful seam binding ribbon in the Pocket Memories kit and the cute little washi. I love the stamps in the kits and used them on the circle die cuts. That little snowflake is too cute. I also used the steaming mug image on the memory card to look like that cute little critter is holding it.
The banner at the top of the left page is made with die cuts. The die cuts are probably my favorite part of the kits because they can be used in so many ways. And how about that bunny clip?!!! I mean seriously the cutest thing ever!
The shimmery vellum snowflakes in this kit are so pretty and delicate. I used one beside a plaid tag and threaded the ribbon through that. I absolutely love how the simple dori pages are decorated and it makes memory keeping so easy!
I loved lining up this striped washi and making a cluster with this tree sticker from the daily weeks sticker kit and a thin, wooden number. And that’s my day 9!
Audrey’s focus on telling the story speaks to my heart. Adding the embellishments add the perfect whimsical touch!
Have a wonderful day!
