Hi! Odessa here and today Mel and I are showing you some TN layouts based on Christine’s Sketch from the Autumn Whimsy kits. I’ve been loving the TN kits so much and do a layout based on the sketch every month. The inspiration pages with the kit always get me ready to glue down all the paper and stick all the stickers.
I love Mel’s Halloween-y take on the sketch! I like how she switched it up so the page with the photo is almost monochrome and the other side is packed with colour.
Mel says about this layout, “I love the sketch, it offers so many options and possibilities, I especially enjoy working with layers, it’s one of my favorite design techniques! I opted to replace the layers on the right side with diecuts. This was a fun way to modify the sketch!”
I really like how the minimal bits of colour on the left side tie it together with the right side so much!
Evy has a bright fall page with los of colour and fun details. I really like her take on the sketch and how she flipped it and incorporated the Hello Autumn page from the Traveler’s Notebook.
Evy says. “My relationship with the sketches has not always been great, but since I started seeing them as an inspiration and not a copy, everything has changed! For this layout I kept the main guidelines, I used a patterned page with a title and put two photos (instead of one) and added the date using the kit stamps! For the left page I cut and superimposed strips of different paper patterns, added tags and a couple of diecuts. Very simple and very funny!”
I stayed pretty true to the sketch other than a couple things. I loved all the rich autumnal rainbows of colour in the Autumn Whimsy kits so I started with those. I picked this rainbow leaf print to go behind my photo with a neutral grid matt for it. To finish off that side I added a little tag and a bit of washi that matched the colours of the paper.
On the left side I laid down strips of paper that had similar jewel rainbow tones. I tucked some die cuts in and around them in place of the tag in the sketch. For my title I used the amazing alpha stamp that came with this month’s kids with a word sticker. I was done with the sketch at this point but I wanted to have a little more fun so I started looking through all my kit bits to see what I could add. The only thing I love more than a good puffy sticker is a plus sign puffy sticker so I decided to spread some around like confetti. The Memory Keeping Classified Kit came with some amazing dimensional butterfly stickers this month so I added one of those because it coordinated so well and added more dimension along with the puffy stickers.

Hi – I have loved scrapbooking with the Travelers Notebook Kit this year. However, I have not found a good way to store each completed TN scrapbook. They are too thick to put more than a couple in the 6×12 binder I thought would work. Any suggestion? TIA!
I’ve seen people store them in baskets, one for each year.
