Hello Daisies! How is everything going?
Today our new team member, Candy, joined Ria and me to share some ideas of how to add details to your projects by using layering.
First, let’s take a look at Candy’s lovely TN page.
I’m so in love with all the details on this spread, including the washi tapes, die-cuts, and the journaling.
Candy said, “this layout was so much fun to do!
I loved creating mini layered clusters in different sections of this page.
The first thing I did was create the clusters making sure I had a variety of different pieces for each cluster.
Then I added the pictures and die-cuts and then the journaling.
Last, I added a title using the alpha stickers.
This layout was so much fun to do and I love the simple and minimalistic look.”
Next is Ria’s great idea of layering the tickets ephemera.
What a cleaver way to create the border!
I want make a page like this as well!
Ria said, “I love the travel theme of the South Beach kit.
I’ll be using it to scrap about my trip photos with my husband.
These travel ephemera tickets were my fave.
I was so afraid to use them because they were too cute. In this layout, I layered each one after the other, together with phrase die-cuts.
If I had a sewing machine, I would have sewn through the layering to make it look more natural.”
I was playing with the supplies from both Planner Kit and Memory Keeping Pocket Kit to make this layout.
Here are three ways to layering it up, matting the photos, using the journaling cards as the background, adding die-cuts to decorate.
I love matting the photos with the patterned papers based on the color combo I chose.
It also frames the photos and make the photos pop up.
Journaling cards are very helpful while trying to get some more layers on the page.
I love how they works as the background or another way as matting.
If you want to get three dimensional effects, you can glue down the die-cuts with foam dots or tapes.
I prefer these thinner ones because it wouldn’t be too chunky in my album.
Let’s take a look of my little video of how I made this layout step by step.
Hope you all have some fun layering it up.
