Design ideas for your stickers & rub-ons

Hello everyone and welcome to our second TN Tuesday!

It’s Robin and Emily here to welcome our new Memory Keeping design team member Evy Schmidtke with her first blog post. She is excited to introduce her TN designs and those of fellow team member, Kristine Bryant but before we hand off to Evy, we wanted to remind you the sketch challenge is returning this weekend. We will be posting all the details on the Cocoa Daisy Facebook groups and on Instagram, as well as a special Sunday blog post. We hope you will participate and share your beautiful memories with us!

Here’s Evy to introduce the lovely designs she and Kristine created with the South Beach kit.

After a few months I come back to the blog again and the excitement is always great. Today together with Kristine we try to show you our ways of using stickers and rub-ons. I find it wonderful to see how the same things look so different used by different people. And now onward to Kristine and her magnificent projects!

Kristine told me, “One of the things I love to do with the stickers and rub-ons in my memory keeping insert is use them to make page borders. In the first layout, I used the washi strip and translucent sticker sheets from the Memory Keeping Sticker kit to add a bit of interest, and the date stamp fits perfectly in one of the blank label stickers. Simple but pretty!

For my second layout, I layered rub-ons across the bottom of one page. There are so many to choose from, and I picked ones that I thought would look nice with the tropical print on the opposite page. The rub-ons have to be one of my favorite things in all the kits – they layer so beautifully and look like they were printed on the page. For this page, I used individual images from both the Pocket MK and TNMK kits.” All I can say is 😍

I find these fantastic ideas, simple but of such great impact, what do you say? I think I try to use them as soon as possible in my simple dori!

I, on the other hand, wanted to show you how you can use stickers and rub-ons in your projects like embellishments and titles and above all how they look good on photos. The rub-ons give that touch of light and look at one with the pages, while the stickers are perfect for titles and captions!

In this project I used the stickers directly on the photo and the alphas stickers as a title with a rub-ons, I find it a fantastic combination!

I added a rub-ons on the bottom and a few diecuts, on the left a sticker of the same fantasy as the background page.

Here instead rub-ons directly on the photo, excellent idea to illuminate a photo with a dark background and add some color.

-> No problem applying rub-ons with this video! <-

And you can also have fun with a mix and match and combine stickers and rub-ons for unique covers and dashboards!

Kristine and I greet you, leave us a comment with your ideas on how to use stickers and rub-ons and please, don’t miss the next tn tuesday!

Kisses 😘😘😘

Evy
