Jil here challenging you to try circles and stamps on your pages. Kylie and I both worked in our travelers notebooks and addressed the challenge differently. Here is Kylie’s pretty design:
As you can see, Kylie chose the word “summer” for her title, and the the six letters fit perfectly on the stripes of the Lemon Grove paper. She cut six circles out of a patterned paper included in the kit, and then on an inner circle stamped the word’s letters using the awesome alpha stamp set included in the Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping kit. Such a lovely photo and cohesive spread!
Here’s a close-up of the title-work. I love the dynamic arrangement of the circles and all the different blues, including the pale blue Kylie used for her stamping.
And here is my page featuring circles + stamping:
I began by cutting three circles from the white woodgrain paper. I placed my flower photos behind the circles. Two of the circles that I cut out appear on the facing page, one as the center of the flower I hand-cut and one over a doily (from the pocket kit) to hold my title and journaling.
As you can see from this close-up, I grabbed stamps from my stash to combine with the kit stamps. I counted at least twelve different stamps on my page! Some of the phrase stamps I curved on my stamping block to make a stamped border for each of the flower photos. The labels from the kits are perfect to stamp on, and you’ll see labels throughout the spread.
In keeping with the Lemon Grove theme of the kit and the rubber sunshine embellishment (again from the pocket page kit), I grabbed my yellow ink to stamp around these sweet hydrangeas. The pretty flower tag is from the Memory Keeping Classified kit.
In this detail shot, you can see the title stamped with the kit alpha and the script phrases in the Memory Keeping Classified kit–I’ve used them together on pages throughout the month. Here you’ll also notice that the petals of my flower are composed of paper scraps from previous Cocoa Daisy kits, a playful touch on this happy spring-has-sprung layout. What do you think?
