Creative Borders | Picket Fences.

Hey Cocoa Daisy fans!

It’s Kylie back on the blog with you all today and I am sharing ways to add a creative border or frame to your TN pages.Borders not only add a lot of detail and extra colour to your pages but they also help highlight and support the memories you are trying to preserve.I’ve been working a lot with the Picket Fences kit lately so thought I would share a few of my favourite pages-

This month I have been adhering a white insert to one side of my TN that has had machine stitching added as a border. I actually try hard NOT to have the stitching too straight and neat and prefer the look of it when it’s crooked and with the cotton ends left with length.Although only subtle the white stitching does add a nice border to my pages, helping to frame my completed look.

I have also added a creative border from punching various sized circles from some of the papers. It created a nice balance and backdrop for the title of my pages.

In a similar technique only this time using triangular pieces, I have added another border down the side of these pages. No specific measurements are used, all is just by line of eye and what looks best for the effect I am trying to achieve. I have also added some machine stitching over the top of my border once it was adhered into place.

Stamps are also another great way of adding a simple border to frame your pages. Here I have used one of the banner stamps to add a highlight to the top and bottom of my page.

And finally here is another page where I have used strips of papers to create an ‘L’ shaped border on my page.It created a fun backdrop for layering other tags and embellishments over the top of.

I also filmed a short process video this month, sharing how my pages come together:

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

Kylie.
