Hello everyone, Jil here to share with you the pages we’ve been making with just one color. The first two, by Celine and Moon, are green and mine is blue. The recent kits are perfect for pulling a favorite color to create a monochromatic scrapbook layout.
Celine’s lovely page is about Etretat, a gorgeous French garden, and so her photograph is lush, a rich green that her kit elements echo and complement.
This close-up helps us see how she used the green alpha stickers, butterfly, and vellum pieces from the Picket Fence kits to create her layered title, subtitle, and embellishment cluster over her photo.
Below her title are green chipboard arrows, and her signature cool, layered stamping.
In this last detail shot, we zoom in on the green polka dot tag, foliage sticker, and glitter dot. Such great details!
Moon also made a 12X12 page with the kits and pulled it all together with the spring green. The title was hand cut from one of the 4X6 cards in the pocket kit–what a great idea and striking look! I also love the energy of the slightly tilted angles of the photos, labels, die cuts, and paper strips along the top.
My favorite part of her layout, though, are these amazing, hand stitched green triangles. An adorable finishing touch. Below are a couple of photos of my travelers notebook layout. The first shows how I took blue as my starting point because of the pretty blue in the restaurant sign in my photo. My page is about a relaxing date night after a hard work week!
This full page shot shows how I used the wonderful tile stamps, stencil, and washi tape in the Lemon Grove kit, a perfect match for the Middle Eastern decor of the restaurant we ate at, which is called Zooroona.
I colored paper with a variety of blue inks and then cut a title on my die cut machine. That little chipboard circle from the pocket kit made an apt subtitle for the page. And note the tiny white paperclip–several are included in the travelers notebook kit.
Here you can see how the tiles look when stamped in different shades of blue and cut into squares. There’s a little additional stamping in this corner, a die cut from the Lemon Grove kit plus a few elements from my stash. Since the photo has a touch of floral pink, I wanted to add that, too. Besides the flower puffy sticker, I used the pink floral sticky-back charm from the kit above my photo. One of my favorite styles is monochromatic with just small touches of an accent color or two. You can see I also introduced a bit of yellow with my stitching. Hope these pages give you both color inspiration and ideas about how you want to use these lovely spring Cocoa Daisy kits!
