Hi everyone! Today’s blogpost focuses on the lovely cranes that were in the Cherish Blossom Memory Keeping kits. The lovely cranes were on diecuts, pocket cards, patterned papers and puffy stickers.
The Cherish Blossom kit had an oriental theme to it. It inspired me to work on layouts about the time my family and I traveled to Japan. I’m tagging works done on this album as #RiaHelloJapan .
Whenever I travel, I always bring home ephemera in the form of tickets, stubs, menus, calling cards, etc. Cranes make me think of flying so I focused on that theme by making a spread to include our plane tickets into my album. I got a pocket card design that had cranes on it and just added the words “Just Fly” using pink puffy alphabet stickers. I also added a puffy crane sticker as another embellishment.
I created a pocket using the beautiful vellum patterned paper from the Planner kits. Truth be told, it was so beautiful, I had to fight the hoarder in me. I’m crazy about pockets right now because they add an interactive element to your TN.
Here’s another layout about Japan: the entrance to Fushimi Inari Taisha. It was our dream to visit this place, so I had a really fun time reminiscing as I scrapped about this memory. I often use a monochromatic design whenever I scrap, so I quickly just pulled the reds from the kit to see which ones looked best with the picture. I also love using pocket cards in the traveler’s notebook so I attached one of my faves with a chipboard sticker. I added a crane and left it hanging off the edge for aesthetic purposes.
Thank you for passing by. Hope I have inspired you to use your cranes in your memory keeping.
Ria
