Hi friends! It’s Belen here, with my very first Cocoa Daisy blog post. Today I want to share with you a few of the planner dividers, dashboards & pockets that I made using the April kit, “Cherish Blossom”. I absolutely love everything about this kit. The theme, the colors, the various kit elements, it’s gorgeous!
I’m a huge fan of adding pockets to my planner set ups and often include one right at the front of my planner. I find it handy to have it at the front for quickly stashing away a receipt or business card. Much of the time, it’s a double sided pocket, like this one here. The pocket on the back side is a great place to stash some washi, stickers, or a couple of pocket cards.
I always enjoy the coordinating dashboards that are available. To make mine a bit more my own, I trimmed a piece of paper scrap and punched the length of it with a craft edge trimmer. I then sandwiched it between two dashboards to give them a decorative edge.
Sometimes i simply trim the dashboards down to size and adhere theme to my dividers. This is especially handy if my rings are full and I don’t want to add any more bulk there.
One of my favorite things to do, when my Cocoa Daisy kit arrives each month, is to shop my own stash for items that will coordinate with the kit. Here I added a bit of gold washi, that I had in my stash, to bring in a bit of coordinating gold to my dashboard. It plays off the beautiful gold vellum that came in the kit.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never met a planner pocket i didn’t like! I make single pockets, double pockets, straight pockets, diagonal pockets, even scalloped pockets, like I did here, by punching out a doily using some of the kit paper and trimming it down to size.
I love my planner pretties, or shineys as I like to call them, and more pockets means, more shineys that I can stuff into my planner. I especially like to carry tags & pocket cards. You just never know when you might want to drop someone a quick thank you note or use a card to scribble a few words of encouragement to a friend that might be having a rough day. I can’t tell you how handy it’s been to have extras in my planner.
I love memory keeping and adding photos to my set up, especially photos of my cat, Loki. Dashboards are a great place to do this! Here I used a few stamps from my stash to modify one of the Cocoa Daisy pocket cards to fit my life and I gotta tell you, with a cat like mine…. cat mommin ‘ ain’t easy!
