Say Hello to our Simon and Betty MK Guest Designer, Jessica Upton

Hello Daisy fans!

As we prepare to kiss February good-by and welcome March, I wanted to share this special edition blog post to introduce you to Jessica Upton, our guest designer for the Simon and Betty memory keeping kits. Jessica is a 40 something work at home Mom to McKenna (just shy of 17), Riley (15) and Kiefer (8). She is married to her lobster, Keith whom Jessica met on eHarmony 12 years ago. They moved out to the country just over a year ago and got 2 horses (Phoenix and Ouray) last summer.

Jessica owns Color Cast Designs, a small business she runs from her home. Her days are filled with cutting on the laser and spending as much time as she can with Phoenix and Ouray.

Other hobbies Jessica enjoys include memory keeping, photography, cooking and reading. Jessica’s number one goal of 2019 is to move more and walk every day.

We asked Jessica a few questions to help you get to know her a bit more.

When is your most creative time? Most of my creative time is in the early hours before anyone else is up. I love grabbing a cup of coffee and working in the quiet time before the hustle of the day starts.

How do you unwind? My favorite way to unwind is spending time with my 2 horses. It doesn’t even have to be riding them. Just spending time and bonding with them.

What is your guilty pleasure? Sugar, anything sugar related.

If your life were a novel, what would the title be? Living the Dream

What is “dressed up” for you? These days, anything that is not comfy work at home clothing or horseback riding clothing, I would consider “dressing up.”

We love Jessica’s Simon and Betty designs and are sharing a few we think you will adore too!

In Jessica’s pocket page designs she used ephemera and pocket cards to walk us through fun events and funny moments. She included carefully chosen phrases for her family members from the kit sweeten up her colorful and fun designs.

In her Simple Dori, Jessica created this adorable design using pocket cards, conversation hearts, and stitched hearts along with  paper, sticker phrases and ephemera from the memory keeping kits to document these beautiful photos.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little about Jessica and enjoyed her beautiful designs.  You can find more Cocoa Daisy designs by Jessica and other DT members on the Cocoa Daisy on the Simon and Betty Pinterest board.

Thank you!
