Hello everyone, Jil here with some energetic, colorful pocket-page spreads to inspire your 2019 documenting. This first one is by Traci Reed, and it conveys a great sense of adventure.

This detail shot shows how that red tag contributes to the excitement of the page, drawing your eye to the title and focal point photo. I also love the small paper airplane die-cut, a perfect touch to convey motion.

Another detail shot shows Traci’s use of paper and stamped arrows, which also convey a sense of movement and direct the eye. The blues, reds, and yellows are so vibrant and fresh!

Another page by Traci features more delightful color and stacked embellishments that beautifully tell her story. It’s also fun to see these 6X12 page designs!

This detail shot gives us a closer look at the stacked chipboard, die-cut, and stamp, all in this month’s kit, along with these pocket cards with such cool graphics!

One more from Traci. I love the sense of humor here and how well the embellishments contribute to the story she’s telling.

A detail shot helps us see how perfect that conversation candy badge is. The kit includes several of them–fabric with a sticky back. “This was Great” has to be one of my favorite cards this month.

Odessa’s pocket documenting always amazes and inspires me. I especially love the way she embellishes her photos with alpha stickers, washi, and die-cuts/chipboard from the kits. Love all the great detail here!

That “Look up” on the photo of the tall trees and the layered die-cuts on the photo of her boys are examples of what  I mean by a great eye for detail.

Her combining of cards from the kit is beautiful, too. Love the coffee card next to the vibrant aqua and black card.

Another thing to notice about this spread is how well the really dark photos work. They add to the drama and contrast.

Here is a spread I made with last month’s Paper and Ink kit to launch my 2019 album.

I love the Paper and Ink washi tape so much! I used it throughout the spread, including as a ribbon for the little kraft tag. Puzzles and games are central to our holiday break, and I also included some photos of the birds I had been painting at the end of 2018.

Stamps, rub-ons, arrows, chipboard–lots of goodness from Paper and Ink. I also included some of the phrase stickers from this month’s kit, Simon and Betty, along with one of the puffy hearts.

A detail shot shows just how cute those puffy alpha stickers are–white with gold dots!

And here is my second spread of 2019, one side about my transition back to work (not smooth!) and the wonderful weekend with my friends and boyfriend. Most of this is from Simon and Betty with a little of last month’s elements mixed in.

I like to include book covers and movie posters to document what I’m reading and watching, and this screenshot of the Get Out poster fit in well with the reds, blues, and yellows in the cards.

What better way to end than with this close-up of this cheeky Betty card! So much fun to use when nothing goes quite as planned . . .
