Tall Stack; the October Sketch Challenge

Hey Daisies! Suzanna here with you again to share this month’s sketch challenge. It’s a tall stack this month. And guess what?! NO CIRCLES! No circles! I know, after the months of circles, kind of hard to believe.

Without further ado, here’s this month’s sketch;

Do you see what I mean by tall stack? The orientation of the photos and the strips behind that top photo make for a tall stack. I gotta tell you, I struggled with this one this month. It was disproportional to me and not pleasing to the eye. But, the beauty of sketches! you make it work for you!

Alissa’s layout first! Oh do I love this gal and her creations! We can always count on a resemblance of the sketch but not really with Ms Fast. She has the two “photos” overlapping at the corner as the sketch does. And her title is beside the bottom most photo. The two variations here are that Alissa turned the vertical strip horizontal and oriented the strips behind the upper photo the same way! Absolutely fantastic! As too is the picture of Alissa, don’t you think? I love how she used the ribbon. I really need to develop a better relationship with ribbon…

And Katherine’s layout above! See how they both used the “Hello Fall” card from the DITL kit? And the ribbon. You can see the resemblance to the sketch. I love how Katherine used not one, not two but THREE of the DITL cards. Katherine included that vertical strip as found on the sketch. So many fun bits and pieces from the sketch; the wood veneer, the printable exclusive files, etc. LOVE this Katherine!

Then mine. Sorry there isn’t any journaling; I’m still waiting on my husband to do something about that glaring white space… Because I created an 8.5×11 layout using the sketch, things had to be modified somewhat. I used a tag in place of the journaling and therefore changed one of the photos to a journaling spot. The title had to go elsewhere are there isn’t room on the layout to put it as the sketch calls for. With a lot of vertical movement on the page, that long vertical strip got relocated to the bottom of the page. Isn’t that squirrel wood veneer adorable? You should see the hedgehog! I covet Doris’ hedgehog.

That, my friends, is the sketch for this month and some of the design teams’ interpretation of it. I hope you are inspired to create! Please share you creation on the message board, a comment below or on the FB page. If posting on the FB page, please do so under the sketch post so I can find it. One random winner to submit their sketch inspired project will win a gift card to the Cocoa Daisy store. Please submit your projects by lunch’ish time on October 19th (EST) and the winner will be announced on the 20th.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
