Learn Something New Every Day

Good Morning, Daisies! Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s almost October? I cannot believe the holidays are almost upon us once again. Well, let’s not think about that, just yet. Today I’m here to share with you my annual reflection on the lessons learned each day in September. Learn Something New Every Day has been a class project hosted by Shimelle Lane for longer than I can remember. It’s just a fun way to document daily lessons learned each September, in a creative way.

Do you remember this book in the September gallery? One of my most requested things is to share some of my completed mini books, when I share a prepped book in the gallery at the beginning of the month. This guy isn’t done yet, but not to worry. I’ve got several completed pages to share with you today. It gives you a good idea, and inspiration I’m hoping, to get those pre-done mini book projects completed.

I pulled stuff from the September kits, past kits and some from my stash as I worked through the daily entries.

Here we go!

Title Page: The quote journal card from the September Day In The Life kit was PERFECT for this project. It’s like the designer knew about this project and created me the perfect title page card. 🙂

Day 1: I wish you could see the gold foil of those letters in this photo, but you know they are shiny! They’re from the September main scrapbooking kit.

Day 2: I used one of the A5 dashboards from the September planner dashboards add on to create a page. If you get the dashboard subscription and only use one of the sizes in your planner, the other dashboards are perfect for mini book pages.

Day 3: I already knew this but it was a lesson relearned. This page just shows how you can let the pattern of the paper take center stage. No photos needed. Just a fun title and a little journaling and you’re good to go.

Day 4: Don’ judge. 😉 As per my usual, I had to throw in a few shipping tags for pages. That’s the thing I love the most about making mini books, especially the larger ones. All the different page sizes you can include to add texture and layers. I love layers. 🙂

Day 4 continued: When I add a smaller page, I typically use both sides for the full day. It gives me a little more room to add in the journaling.

Day 5: The clear page. I love to add additional visual layers with clear elements. To cover the adhesive on this one, I put the cards back to back to add each daily lesson.

Day 6: The back of the clear page and another lesson learned.

That’s all I have for you today. Keep an eye on the Cocoa Daisy Scrapbooking Facebook Group and my Instagram for more completed pages throughout October. I’ve got more done, but didn’t get full photos of them yet. That’s what I love about these month long projects. You can just get them done in your time. When you’ve got the time. I recorded all of my daily lessons in my DaisyDori so I’m good to go with my content, just need to add the pretties. 🙂

Have a great weekend, all!

Alissa
