Hello lovely Daisies!!
I hope you´re having a wonderful summer!! Today I want to share with you a technique you can use to give your planner a different look: WATERCOLORS.
This is all about playing with your brush to see what comes out, you don´t need to be an artist, or specially skilled, you only need your planner or Daisy dori, watercolors, a brush and a glass with water. I also included in the picture some stamps from Cocoa Daisy and watercolor pens to make lettering, but it could also be done with a regular brush, a paper towel and a sheet of paper to try the colors before applying.
Choose the paper you´ll use. Cocoa Daisy´s planner paper is very thick and it can hold perfectly watercoloring, you can check the paper quality in THIS POST Christine made to explain it.
Just dip your brush in the water and start playing with the colors. I started applying some watercolor on the days of the week, it turned out very dark, but it doesn´t matter, it´s just fun and when it dries the result is very different than what you see at first, so no worries at all!
I tested the color first in a white sheet, to make sure that´s the color I want.
Since it was too dark, I tried to dry it with the paper towel. (And it remained dark :D)
At this point I´m going to apply some lighter colors on the bottom corners of the pages.
And some yellow on the top part… This is imagination, trying and trying…
This is what I got! So I decided to add some Cocoa Daisy stamps, the set is called C U alligator and I loove it so much! It has cactus, flower pots… it´s so pretty that I wanted to use it because it reminds me of summer. I went ahead and stamped several times.
And then I started watercoloring the leaves, the flowers and the pots.
I grabbed the watercolor pens to write the month and the days.
Now it´s the time to start decorating with CD´s scrapbooking kit, this one is called FIREFLY and the planner kit.
A closer look…
Now let´s try a different background, for this one we´ll need a flat brush, I did it on my Daisy Dori.
Dip the brush on the water and add some watercolor from the godet, I wanted to make a pink-purple ombré look, so I started with the lighter pink making stripes and continued with darker colors.
Now that we have our background, let´s make it summer themed with stickers and die cuts! you can use any bit or piece you have, even stamps or anything… Imagination is the intelligence having fun… (As Einstein said :D)
This is the result, I need to keep journaling but I loved how it turned out!
Thank you so much for your time! I hope this inspired you to have more planner fun. If you want to share your creations with us, please use #cocoadaisy and/or #cocoadaisykits to join the fun.
Happy planning!!
