Hello, Daisy Fans!
Today I’d like to share with you how I used the Cocoa Daisy October 2017 kit and personal size ring bound inserts to set up my planner for the month!
One of the first things I do is lay out all the awesome products and pick out my favorite items I know I’ll want to include in some way. Then, I get to work decorating my front pocket area.
You can see that this month I included the sweet little acorn post-it notes, some puffy paperclips, a few sheets of the notepad paper clipped to a card, the amazing Gnome-Simon card and a first day of school tag made with the planner kit die cuts and some paper from the Day in the Life Kit!
The next thing I do for a new month is make dividers. This is one of my FAVORITE things to do each month! In the past I’ve done a variety of things; I’ve used the 6 dashboards and added the tab diecuts to the side for a quick and cute setup and I’ve also glued the diectus to the dashboards to make tabs from them. This month, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out 6 standard dividers from the main planner kit paper and added some labels from www.plannerkate.com.
I also like to add pictures of my son, Augustus, some acetate, and some of the decorative cards for a layered look. I found the little hexagon-fox clip at Hobby Lobby and couldn’t resist adding him to the mix!
For my foward planning I use a set of month on 2 page list format inserts from www.sewmuchcrafting.com I use just an ink pen on these inserts and then add the Cocoa Daisy washi and stickers to jazz things up when my kit arrives for the month. I love the planner add on kit washi for October and who can resist the Gnome-Simon sticker?! It’s love.
The main section of my planner are the Cocoa Daisy week on 2 pages inserts. I usually break down each daily section into a broader section to list and track things for the month. This month, as you can see, I have sections for October Holidays, important dates, budget/spending information, Cocoa Daisy due dates, sticker wish lists, inside and outside projects I want to get done at home, meal ideas and even a TV tracker. What I love most about these inserts is that they are so easy to customize; you can use them for anything your little heart desires!
The next order of business is always to get my Cocoa Daisy month on 2 page insert in order. I transfer the items over from my forward planning inserts (shown above). I like to use the personal size stickers from www.plannerkate.com on these as she offers a variety of stickers that not only perfectly fit the boxes of the inserts but also come in a variety of colors that are always sure look great with the beautiful Cocoa Daisy prints.
Another section I like to include in my planner is a “personal” section. In this section I use the Cocoa Daisy week on 1 page inserts to list a quote or scripture each day. I’ve found that having a place to reflect and occasionally journal has been very helpful for me! This month, the Day in the Life kit came with an adorable stamp (There is Always Something to Be Thankful For) and a little ink pad. I couldn’t resist stamping a sheet of white list paper and adding it to this section. I plan to list something I’m thankful for each day in October.
Each month, I add the Cocoa Daisy daily inserts to my planner. These are a must-have for me because some days I am so busy I just don’t have time add stickers and stamps to my plans for the day. I just pick up my pen and make a list and then get busy! I love that they have a focus at the top for my schedule and then plenty of room to make lists on the front and back.
Lastly, I take a look at what I have left in my kit and let the creative juices flow. I will say that I don’t consider myself particularly crafty but I love borrowing lots of ideas from other people (Like YOU) that share on Instagram and Facebook. I’ve seen lots of DIY page markers and this month I decided to cut down my A5 dashboard that I wouldn’t be using and turn it in to a weekly tab marker for my personal size rings. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the center of the dashboard and some gold glitter card stock to cut the “This Week” lettering. I glued the lettering down and laminated the entire thing. I’m really pleased with how it turned it out and hope to make some more in future months. Such a good way to re-purpose your A5 dashboards when you buy the dashboard add on kit but are using a personal size binder!
Thanks for following along with me today, Daisy Fans! You can find a video of this setup at October Setup & Unboxing
