Helloooo sweet Daisies! Hope you are all well!
Today I am taking you all off the page with a project using this months ‘Letterpress’ kits. I know some people tend to shy away from ‘Off the page’ projects, but today I am going to show you a mini canvas I created. They are super quick and easy and really don’t use a whole lot of your supplies. This makes it ideal for using up some scraps if you wish!
Here is a look at my completed canvas:-
The canvas I bought was 5×7″ so a nice, neat little size.To begin with I added some modeling paste with a spatula over a stencil-
You can see I was fairly random with my placement.I just wanted to add a little texture and break up the background.Once I had let it dry I decided the canvas was a little too ‘cream’ in colour so I ended up painting it with some white paint to brighten it a little.
(The stencil I used was from Prima Marketing)
Next I set about cutting all my flowers. I did this with a flower die set. It is one of my favourites from Kaisercraft, “3D Flower- DD795”. At this point I wasn’t sure how many flowers and leaves I would need so I just kept cutting!
I always assemble my flowers first before applying them to the canvas. It makes it easy to see what works where.I distressed the edges of the quote cut out a little and adhered it to my canvas with foam tape for a raised appearance.
Don’t be afraid to layer your flowers over the top of each other. It gives a great dimension to your project.
Also, I tend to like to use my stencil over the edges of my canvas as well.It gives a great textural balance.
I finished off my project with one of the adorable bows in this months kit. They are SO cute!
I hope you have enjoyed my project for today and it inspires you to try an Off The Page project for yourself.
Until next time,
Kylie. xo
