January Planner set up and free cut files!

Jan planner post 1

Happy Monday, Christine here with you today to share my January planner set up, a few tips and some FREE cut files/PDFs! I like to keep all my planner supplies together in a small basket, I have the items from the Planner Kits as well as some favorite things I’ve pulled from our Main and Day in the Life kits. I love how there are so many cute things I can pull from those kits to use in my planner, and having them all together in a little basket makes it nice and easy to just grab and use whenever I want to play…ahem… work on my planner.

For January I decided to use my gold Kikki K. planner, I thought the metallic gold looked so pretty with the January colors. I created a set of gold tab divider (more on those in just a minute) and I dressed up the January monthly tab with just one glittery circle sticker from the January Main Kit.

For my monthly overview page I used the free Day Planner printable. I added a journaling card to the blank side and dressed up the overview page with vellum letter and number stickers (found in the Carmel add on), some cute stamped images from the “But first coffee” and “Under the bed” stamp sets, and a few of the January Planner Stickers. I like that I can be creative with my monthly overview pages, its a fun way to use my scrapbooking and planner supplies but it doesn’t take a lot of time (in fact I usually do this while I’m sitting in bed watching the Tonight Show). A little side note about our Day Planner Stickers , each set includes a sticker with the month on it so you can use that on your monthly overview printable, but aside from that there is nothing on the sheet that is “dated” so you can really use them anywhere, anytime in your planner, and we’ve made sure that our stickers are not on too heavy a cardstock so they won’t add bulk to your planner pages.

Here is a shot of one of my daily pages, the pages are so pretty I really didn’t need to dress them up much (of course you can if you want to!), just some stamps, a few stickers and a piece of patterned paper. I’m so in love with those little monster stamps!

I created a book mark to go with my pages for this month and that is one of the FREE cut files/PDF we offering. I used my Silhouette to cut out a couple bookmarks, glued a front and back together for each one, added a rub on to the tab on top and then I laminated them to hold up against the wear and tear of everyday use. Punch some holes in your bookmark and it’s ready to go! Also, because they are laminated I can add some sticky notes or other embellishments and change them out without worrying about ruining the bookmark.

The little calendar sticky note is available in our store here.

I wanted to create a set of tabbed dividers to match my Kikki K. planner, I wanted them to be gold and sturdy, at first I thought I’d have to look for some patterned paper that had gold on it and laminate it, but then I came across these file folders from Teresa Collins, they have beautiful gold designs and because they are file folders they are heavy duty, perfect! Arleigh created a set of tabbed divider page cut files/PDF for both the A5 and Personal size planners that are the same design as our monthly tabs  – love how they all match! I cut the file folders in half which allowed me to get two tabbed divider pages per file folder (I’m using the A5 size).

I then added a few embellishments to each tab, some journaling cards, stickers, die cuts and a gold vellum feather from our January Main Kit. Again, this is a fun way to use up some of your scrapbooking leftovers.

I created some simple labels for my tabs (I always type mine because I do not like my handwriting).
