Hi there daisies! Hope you guys had a great weekend and ready for some fun inspirations from us this week. I’m starting off the week today with the dissecting design post on this “our first family trip layout”. Earlier this year, we brought our little one on her first overseas trip (and I mean overseas 14 hours by plane) and experienced what it is like to travel as a family (the good times and the oh not too good times – the crying and screaming on the plane was an experience).
For this layout, most of the products are from the main Viewfinder kit with some random embellishments from the Scenic Route add-on kit. I got the inspiration for my layout from this month exclusive pattern papers (those viewfinders are too cute) but instead of making my own viewfinder (with the die cut that is also included), I opted for photo strip design instead.
So I started by layering a portion of the viewfinder die cut on top of the pattern paper. Then went off and assembled my photo strip pictures. Made mine by printing 4 photos on a 4×6 photo paper and the trimming them in half before adhering everything down in strip format.
Now since we’re on the topic of viewfinders, couldn’t resist not including those amazing wood die cuts and how cute is that camera charm too. Also added in some stickers from both the viewfinder and scenic route kits.
Then of course, to add another element of dimension I had to try out the fun stitching template that was included in this month kit and honestly was surprised at how easy it was to use. A new favorite! Then to complete my layout, I added in the cute travel ribbon clip that came with the scenic route kit. How fun are those… have seen them around but didn’t realize how easy it was to put together…
Thanks everyone for stopping by and don’t forget to grab this month kits if you haven’t already!
Fun & fabulous layout! I can’t imagine a 14 hour trip with a little one!
