Hi everyone! Happy New Year! I hope that you are all off to a fabulous start for 2014.
Today I want to share a super easy embellishment trick that you can incorporate on layouts, mini books or cards. If you have a circle stencil, a pencil and some scissors then you are halfway to an incredibly easy peasy embellishment! Simply trace your circles, in various sizes and then ball the freshly cut circles in your hands, getting them nice and crunchy. This will add to the texture of the circle. Once they are good and messy, cut them out and then cut triangles in the circle. Be sure to avoid cutting all the way through your circle. When attaching them to your project you can use foam pop dots, glue dots or sticky tabs, the choice is yours. You can create “flowers” by adding an embellishnent in the center of your circle like I did:
I chose to scatter my different sized circles all over my layout. The options with these embellishments are endless! You can group them closer to create one gigantic flower, or add even more than I did. This is also a great way to use up patterned paper scraps or to incorporate several patterns on one layout.
I hope you enjoyed this tips & tricks post! Have a great week friends!
