Hellos and a goodbye

We are happy to welcome two new designers to the scrapbooking team at Cocoa Daisy! Please join us in saying hello to Niru Kumar and Sasha Farina.

This is Niru:
Niru grew up just outside Pittsburgh, after her parents moved there from India.  She fell in love with the creeks, hills, snows, and the Steelers of course.  All of her formative years were spent on the East Coast but she and her husband moved to Texas for work shortly after getting married.  Now, they have three born Texans, Avinash, Nandini and Lakshman, and a house full of love and craziness in Austin.
She is currently a memory keeper, blogger and Etsy maker.  Niru fell into scrapbooking a few months after her first child was born over six years ago in 2008.  After all those swirling new mommy emotions surfaced, she had finally her own pause button.  Scrapbooking was her therapy, her outlet, and her artistic expression.
You can find Niru’s projects, photographs and parenting confessions on her blog, Rainbow Scraps. She can also be found on Instagram with a usually daily dose of color and craziness, as Nirupama01.

Here’s a bit about Sasha:
My name is Sasha. I live in Singapore, sunny and blazing hot at the moment with a touch of smog. I hate smog btw. They smell funny and choke me in my sleep. I have a husband, Sam and two daughters, Neha (15 this year) and Nidhi (13 this year). Two teenage girls in the house, have pity on me. LOL.
I started scrapbooking in 2006, innocently I might add. You know that feeling? Then I was swallowed whole by this amazing hobby and not a day of regret ever since. Of course, the first year or two, I buy everything I see and gave Sam a heart attack very so often. Now, I’ve calmed down a lot, and since I’d like to think that I’ve found my ‘style’ whatever that is, I’m able to scrap better using kits. It’s the challenge, you see. I’m laid back and competitive at the same time, only with myself though.
Besides scrapbooking, I cross stitch too. Any cross stitchers here? I’m working on a wedding sampler I plan to give as a surprise to my youngest sister on her wedding day in March so I’m furiously stitching that piece now. The pattern said it will take 49 hours to stitch, I probably will double that time because I stitch while watching NCIS LA/Blue Bloods/Law & Order SVU (yup.. another obsession – cop series!)
Ookkayyy!! This is a novel already! If you’re still reading, thank you! I look forward to getting to know all of you here and for us to share and learn from each other.

And our goodbye:

We have loved having Martha Bonneau on our Design Team for the past few years. Her clean fresh style brings graphic inspiration to us every month. But she’s focusing on bringing another daughter home, so we bid her a fond farewell and wish her luck and a speedy finish to this long process. You can follow her on Instagram to see what she’s up to.
