Good morning, Daisies!
I can’t believe February has come and gone, and they’re already revealing the NEW kits! Before we move on to the March “Silver Lining” kits though, I have some mini book inspiration to share with you.
This month’s kits + Jen’s creative talent = one gorgeous mini book:
Seriously beautiful. I’m low-key obsessed with the little yellow buttons as flower centers. SUCH a clever idea.
Also, I can’t even remember the last time I saw a circular mini album; it’s really inspiring me/making me want to make one!
Here’s what she had to say about her work of art:
“It was a breeze creating this little mini using some fun photos of my daughter and a couple of her best friends…I used die-cuts to embellish my front and back covers as well as throughout the album itself. The patterned papers from this month’s kit really added a pop of color for the base of my pages. Love how this little mini turned out!”
Don’t you just love all those gorgeous florals??
While Jen made a more traditional mini album, I went in a bit of a different direction for my mini book.
PSA: You can treat traveler’s notebooks like mini albums. I feel like this is the most obvious thing and I’m slightly late to the party. Traveler’s notebooks aren’t just for planning anymore. Or you know…traveling?
Every month I add a few pages to my notebook with the end goal being: a completed mini album at the end of the year.
Here are the pages I added this month with the “Shine Bright” kits:
I kept this page fairly simple by limiting my colour choices and minimizing my embellishments. My favourite patterned paper is that b+w script one; I’m pretty sure I used up the entire sheet!
All of my journaling was done on my typewriter along with the “just chilling” word strip. I’m not the biggest fan of my handwriting so a typewriter is a convenient alternative!
This next page features alphabet stamps used to create a background:
Note: This spread highlights a picture of our cat, Minerva, who we affectionately call “Chubs”.
In order to keep the left page clean while stamping, I covered it up with a sheet of paper while I stamped on the right page. Perfect line!
A stamped background is such a simple way to create a page without adding extra paper bulk to the notebook!
Thanks so much for stopping by today – have a lovely Wednesday!
Brooke
