Do you ever have (or has it been considered to have) any scrapping challenges that could be won just by putting in the effort to participate? Or is that where the RAK contests come in? I felt very discouraged tonight when I realized that the winners of ALL the challenges, not just the Queen of the Crop contest, were chosen through voting, when it's already tough to complete multiple projects in a week's time. I think if I had known going in (and maybe it's spelled out somewhere and I just missed it...) that all the challenges were also voted-on contests, I would have worked that much harder to make maybe 1 or 2 layouts (which would be my usual maximum for a weekend event) with some unique touches, and not even tried for the big prize that required completing at least 10 of the challenges, since I am a very slow scrapper and I knew the next week would not allow for scrapping time (I tried to finish one more, and even that was too much). Just an idea to consider. The crop was a great event, and I am still very glad that I participated, and I know that a lot of work and consideration was put into the challenges themselves, and no doubt the voting as well. Anyhow -- those are my thoughts, for what they're worth.
Carmen.
