Love the background paper with all the journaling and then more hand journaling. Makes me think about trying to journal as much as the two combined. I love the effect.

Here's my take on this challenge.

Sprayed the background paper with Glimmer mist and Mister Huey. White washed with gesso the mat paper and added some washi tape, a little bit of stamping with sequin waste and machine stitching around the borders.

Nope - it's a foam stamp set also. That one was made by Creative Imaginations - love it. Very old. The colored letters were a stamp set that came with a QVC set with a CK book - yeah, old, old.

Here is my "go" at the challenge -- the title is "Grace Was In All Her Steps, Heaven Was In Her Eye". I tried to create some word art with 2 sets of Making Memories foam stamps and an acrylic stamp set, plus some Hero Arts stamps for the author's name. The background paper is American Crafts, the mat paper is Basic Grey, and I added a big ribbon and a "bling" brad (with the close-up photo of my daughter's "squeaker" shoes) -- LOTS of old stash used here! This is a story I've been wanting to tell, and the quote seemed to fit well -- and I thought it was funny that my daughter's shirt has some funky "word art" too.

I must admit, this really pushed me out of my comfort zone. DH doesn't like the word art at ALL -- he thinks it's very difficult to read. I tried to make it more legible by outlining most of the words, but those foam stamps are inherently "messy", at least when I use paint. (Anyone have any tips on cleaning them, by the way??) Would love to hear your thoughts....

Just used my foam stamps for the first time- thanks for the kick in the pants- wish I had practiced more because the paint is blending into the paper- off to try stitching on top- upload will happen tomorrow when the light returns.

OK, here's what I came up with...

I used frisket film to mask the title word, then gessoed over it.

There is some white on white stamping for a little subtle texture.

And I used those cool beads that came with the November kit!
Loved the challenge!
