Trick or Treat?

Postby Funky Fairy » Mon Oct 31, 2011 8:20 am

Are you doing anything spooky today?

Ade and Louis carved the pumpkins yesterday and after school the 4 of us are going to a friends for a party. There's 4 of us families that get together quite alot. The mums will no doubt go trick or traeting with the kids.

I've just finished the spider cup cakes for the kids and pumpkin with cream cheese frosting muffins for the adults to take. I also made some eyeball jelly (jello?)

Should be fun :)

I think Halloween in Sweden is a bit complicated. We don't really celebrate but lots of kids think it's fun and since we don't have a real tradition there are lots of different opinions on how things should - or should not - be done. :P

Alva and Linus have been talking soooo much about going "trick or treating" and we decided they can go, and that J will go with them, but only to the houses where we know there are kids or those that we know well. If someone has lots of decorations I guess it would be ok too, but I doubt there is a house like that here. I'll try to get a photo of them before they go out. :) :)

The doorbell rang twice this Saturday. First there were one small kid with a simple mask made out of paper and then nothing else and a bigger kid that wasn't dressed up at all. J told them it was the wrong day and gave them no candy. Perhaps they'll come back today? Later on there were three kids that were a little more dressed up and to be as inconsistent as possible I gave them some candy. ;D

Anna, what are you like! ::) ;)

Paul and Max did our pumpkin yesterday, and I found some Halloween bunting that my mum made us last year, completely forgot we had it and very happy to find it, so that's on display in the sitting room.

I put plastic spiders in the boys lunchboxes today, for a lunchtime fright ;D. Sam's gone home from school with a friend, they're trick-or-treating later, and I'm taking Max out with some friends. For various reasons, we've never done it before, so I'm quite excited too!

I've made cupcakes, and Max and I are going to decorate them in a bit, he wants to do spiders and ghosts, not sure how that will turn out, but fun I'm sure.

Enjoy your party, Lis :)
