bought it in the airport today and started it on the plane. And I peeked at the end. I couldn't help it! So far, so good.

Linda, is it going to make me cry?

Me too! I was crying a lot at 2am when I finished the book! I got mine on Saturday, but it was A's birthday party day, so I was so busy that I didn't get to start it until yesterday. I pulled an all dayer- reading here and there when I got a chance. I want to read the whole thing again now!

I'm a little more than halfway through it and I'm loving it so far! I haven't cried yet but I got a lump in my throat once so far.

I just picked it up last night on my way back home.  I was sitting next to a really interesting guy on the plane and ended up talking to him most of the flight instead of reading so I've only read 130 pages.  Can't wait to finish although I know that's going to make me so sad that there'll be no more to read.
I wonder if she'll come up with another series...  I can only hope!

Both of my teens have already finished it (one on Saturday!), but I've only managed to read about 400 pages. Thank goodness my kids know enough to stay quiet about the ending! It is taboo to discuss a Potter book until everyone in the house has read it.

On this topic, when did you get your book? I went with my daughter on Thursday night just so we could be the very first ones to get the book at midnight....crazy, I know, but we are HUGE Potter fans. Hey, the two of us even made it on the local  6:00pm news on Friday!  :) But that wasn't our goal. We were the first to get the last book.

That's cool!!! I don't know how you got yours on Friday, though. It was released on Saturday, I thought..... I got mine in the mail on Saturday, but I didn't get to read it until Sunday.

We got our books on Saturday as well, except at the midnight release (12:01am).  But to me it was still Friday night, kwim?  A lot of people were dressed up too. One of the staff was dressed as Umbridge....omg, she looked like the real thing, right down to her pink bow!! One youngster walked into the store and with one look at "Umbridge", fell to his knees and started crying. Poor thing. His parents couldn't convince him that it was just dress-up. In my opinion, such a young child should never have seen that movie to begin with....see what the results can be? Parts of it scared ME!  :o

Oh, that's horrible! DH and I finally got to see the new movie last night. I loved it. I didn't reread the book before we went, so I didn't remember exactly what was supposed to happen when, and I think it was a good thing, because I didn't feel like anything was missing! :)

Oh that's terrible snowdrop, poor kid will have nightmares for a while then  :-[

I always prefer to watch the movie before I read a book, that way you're not always comparing it with the book since they cut out so much in the movies.

That's my thought for the day  ;) ;D

Read it Sunday. Loved it. Now I'm starting from the beginning and reading them all over again. Can't wait for the encyclopedia to come out!

I'm with everyone on this...can't belive that the series is done.  :'( ( I was not going to get into the books, and didn't until a vacation to Maine and I got the first in paaperback. Read that in a day, had to go to the bookstore and get books 2 and 3 and THEN, had to WAIT for the fourth!)

I think that she (JK) has left an opening for a second series...don't want to say anything for those who haven't read it all yet!

To anja_wade...how could you peek?!?!?!?! :o

This as a movie is going to be so dark.

one can never have enough paper, ribbon, embellishments or mini-books!

I'm horrible about peeking at endings! I do it all the time!

But I'm done now, and I'm a little emotional.
