Funny things your kids say Volume two

Postby Olivia » Thu Jan 17, 2008 3:37 pm

Ok I think I have explained before about what a ham Carter Martin is at 4 1/2. He has always been quite a comedian, but right now we could make money off his antics!

The latest are:

1. Being a bedtime procrastinator... this little exchange happened- From his bedroom doorway we hear "Can I have a drink of water?" (Mind you all of those bedtime routines had already been completed including the drink of water.) DH said no Carter get back in bed, this continued for a good five minutes.. to which DH said, "Carter if you don't get back into bed, I am going to spank you!" To which Carter replied, "Well, when you come to spank will you bring me a drink of water!?" He got his drink and no spanking.

2. We are Razorback fans so while watching the U of Arkansas vs Missouri game I said, Man we are getting slaughtered!" Carter then asked what that meant and then asked who "Le are" was. I said huh and he said, "what number is "Le are" I want to see who is getting beat up". I said "No not Le Are... We are.. "

3. Last night he crawled into bed with us, because evidently a bear was in his window. So this a.m. DH and Carter are having a discussion about the fact that there was no way a bear could get into his window, because he is on the second story. To which Carter replied that he could have used a ladder. DH said, "There is no ladder outside your window Carter."  Then Carter said with a very exsparated sigh, "The bears bring their OWN ladders." So beware of bears bearing ladders!

That cracked me up Olivia!!

I have a few younger brothers and sisters, and when Lee was about 7 ( which would have made me 22), he asked me....

'Charl, when Im 50, will you be dead?'......

Nothing like a youngster to hammer it home that you're getting older by the second!!

Nice Charli!  ;)

Well, this is my latest with Jack.
He went to a 5 year old's birthday party this summer and this particular 5 year is a little too well versed in the birds and the bees.  So, on the way home, Jack said to Scott, "You and mommy need to the love now if you are going to have a baby next year!"
So Scott sort of ignored it figuring that would make it go away.  Nope, he said it to my very conservative in-laws over Christmas, "Mommy and Daddy need to make lots of the love if they are going to have a baby!"  Then driving to school one day it was, "Mommy, I'm going to make lots of love to you so you can have a baby.  You need lots and lots of love to make a baby!" (OBVIOUSLY he has NO idea what he is saying).
So last night he said that he was going to make lots of love so he could have babies.  Scott told him he had to be grown up to have babies.  So Jack said, "Oh, ok, I need to be at least 17 or 18 to have a baby!"  I then jokingly said, "Yep, you have to at least be old enough to tie your own shoes if you are going to have a baby."  To which he said, "Ohhhh, so I need to be 17 or 18 and tie my own shoes to make a baby!"
I am SOOOO afraid that today he is going to go into school and say, "Mrs Henry, mommy and daddy said that when I'm 17 or 18 and tying my own shoes I can make lots of love and have a baby!"
AHHHH!!! She's going to think we are psychos! Thanks so much birthday boy!!

That is so funny! I am so not looking forward to those birds and bees questions. Mr Inquisitive at our house has yet to ask, but I know those are numbered!

Are you two in need of a new baby??

I really want a third, but I need number two to be potty trained and speaking in sentences that explain how his older brother is injuring him, before we try again.

We aren't trying... I'm just trying to talk hubby into number 3!!!  Our issue is that both our kids are in vitro.  Alice was actually a twin for the first 11 weeks.  So... I'm sure because we would decidedly only want 1 this time, this would be the time we get twins or triplets!!!
And I hear you on the potty training!  We made HUGE progress two weekends ago but there's still about 1 accident a day.  At least the pull-ups are gone!!!!  ;D

Tricia, that kid is too funny!

Good luck talking dh into the baby thing! I hope it all goes well if that is what you decide on.

Alexander was convinced that Alora was going to come out of my belly button. :)
