CHOCCIE CHAT 04/09 - 04/15

Postby Funky Fairy » Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:52 am

Good Morning!!!!

Did you have a good Easter weekend?
It's still a holiday here in England. The kids are still off school for another week.

We got back from vacay on Saturday after a week at the beach.
The weather wasn't as good as it usually is down there but it was good to get away.
Unfortunately though the washing machine won't start. So p'd off!! Really not good.
Ade thinks he's worked out what the problem is but as it's Easter can't get hold of the part until Wednesday now. (we need it sent to us).
We are going to give that a go first as it's only $50 rather than rush out and buy a whole new machine and spend around $600. We got a quite expensive one just over 5yrs ago. It was more than what I wanted to spend but it was recommended by Ade's parents ::) I always have had the same brand as my parents have and it lasted for years and years and years. So I'm sticking to my guns next time and going back to that brand plus it's cheaper.

So what did you get up to this weekend?

We are planning to take the kids swimming today.
I also have loads of work to catch up on. I've been hacking away at it in bits since Saturday evening. Just little bits. But I got up early today to make a good start.
The joys of working for yourself :)

Been thinking of you Lisa and hoping you were all having a lovely time.
Grrr to the washing machine!!!
We've had a jolly cold day here today so the girls have been nuggled under blankets this afternoon, watching Hop and then the Gruffalo's child (which was on telly). It's defintaly feeling like Autumn here!

Thanks Sharmaine :)

Your home sounds very cozy.
We watched HOP yesterday. What a great movie. We all loved it!!

We had fun swimming earlier.
I'm really trying to improve. I'm a terrible swimmer. I don't like water.

Hi ladies! So sorry about the ups and downs of the holiday for you, Lisa. Glad you got to get away for a bit though.

Today starts a week-long break for the kiddos. I'm working from home today to be with Nate. He'll be with Daddy or Grandma the rest of the week and Thursday at daycare.

Easter was fun for us. Lots of food and a crazy fun egg hunt at my in-laws. Hubby worked, but I made a really nice early brunch for him and his parents before he left for his day.

Hope everyone has a nice week!

Helloooo! We had a very nice Easter. We visited J's mother for a couple of days and then we've been hanging out at home. We're lucky to still have 2 days left together since J was able to take Tuesday and Wednesday off. The kids are at home during the whole week (today is a public holiday) and goes back to school/daycare next Monday.

I've been scrapping for about 4,5 hours today, together with my friends. It's a bit crazy, but it's now 6 years since we started scrapping together! :) Today we managed to get there a bit earlier, since it's a holiday, and we were playing around with some paint and I was showing them some messy techniques. :) Lot's of fun!

I'm so sorry about your washing machine Lisa! I hope you'll be able to repair it! But I'm glad you had a nice time away! :)

Oh - just waiting for our washing mashine to break too, Lisa! Hope you can fix it (or Ade...) instead of buying a new!

We had a relaxing and fun Easter too! I wrote a bit about it in last weeks tread. We was invited to Svens sister with family last night for dinner and had a great time. Nice food and lot of fun chatting! Just enouht for us to forget the time and go home way to late for our kids. Max fell asleep at 10 and Alice just a bit earlier... Well, we slept in this morning. I went to the gym and after lunch Sven left the kids with his parents, I went to be and he did go skiiing. Tonight before work we took the train in to town, got went to one of our favourite pubs for dinner and then to a nice cafe before by night shift begun. Just hanging without kids is rather nice sometimes!

Scrapping with your friends seams so nice Anna! I tried with someting like that a couple of years ago, but as it seams I´m the only one that take time to scrap BEFORE I take time to do houshold stuff... ;D

I started on Alice dollhouse today. It is my old, but it really needs a makover. The plan is to repaint it and put in new wallpapers (out of scrapbooking paper of course). Her birthday is next week so I must finish it this week...

Sharmaine, it feels strange when you talk about Autumn when Spring is just beginning to show up here.

Keep up the good work ladies ;)

Sounds like you've all been busy and having fun.

Marie, I love the sound of the Dolls house :)
Hollie never did dolls. She was always into animals.
I think I was the only one who played with the dolls house.

Denise are you ok?
You mentioned in Friday qotd that you weren't so well.
Are you feeling better now?

Anna, the scrapping sounds lovely :)
I managed to scrap whilst we were away.

Diana, so you have friends local to scrap with?

It's a work day for me.
Kids are at their Dad's til tomorrow lunch.
I'm going to head to the gym later :)

Good morning! Or actually it is in the middle of the day here... Been a sleep after working all night, but since we had some day´s off I have had to much sleep and can´t sleep any longer today.

Denise - you asked a couple of questions in my blog - yes my snow allergia is way better. I feel like normal again. Oh well, normal me how normal that is ;) ;) ;) Not much sight of spring yet. Well, it was here big time, but now it is snowing again, even though it melts away in a couple of hours I´m fed up now. I WANT tulips in my garden, not old snow and paper passing people thrown during these past months. Asking the same - how are you?

Not much planned yet today. Guess laundry need some attention. And the dollhouse. Think I´ll scrap tonight when Sven is watching hockey. The kids stay at his parents until tomorrow afternoon. Like! Like! Even though I miss them a bit...

Hello, blated Happy Easter!

Anna, sounds like you've been having a good time, with family and with scrappy friends :)

Lis, glad you had a good week despite the weather. Boo to the bust washing machine though :-/. We must be due a phone chat! Will call soon xx

Marie, well done with the dolls house!

We had a fairly good easter weekend, not the same as usual this year though, with Paul working flat out on the kitchen project. We did a garden egg hunt for the boys on Sunday morning, which was lovely, and I was going to take them to the park in the afternoon, but it started to rain as soon as we set out, grrrrr, so I took them to Norwich Castle instead, which was better actually :). We didn't get our day out yesterday as planned cos of the stupid weather (rained all day, grrrrr), but we did take the boys bowling later in the day, which was great fun, followed by a pizza dinner out.

Today the boys have been with grandad while I went to work, continuing our big sort-out for our new playgroup premises. We're getting there, but still lots of little things to do to be able to open on Monday. Tomorrow we wait in for deliveries for our kitchen project. I hate waiting for deliveries! But needs must.

I am fine Lisa, just seasonal allergies on top of busyness. I really think I need a break. It's been since Christmas that I have had more than 2 days off in a row. I think I am just feeling a little burnt out. The sunshine has helped though and so has some creative time in the late afternoon. I just need to re adjust my attitude I think.

What's happened with the washer Lisa? That makes me crazy when you spend good money for something and it's just crap. blech.

Marie, can we have photos of the dollhouse? How old is Alice going to be?

Anna how lovely to be able to scrap with friends. My friend Meghan came over yesterday for a couple of hours and we had a lovely time crafting. she creates like me, just sorta slops stuff around and makes a mess. It's wonderful. :)

Sharmaine your day sounds cozy :)

Diana, what was the name of your magazine? I wanted to tell the counselor at our school about it. hope your day with Nat was nice.

Got my kit today and so I cleaned up my scrappy mess and put away my left overs from April to start fresh. I am too tired to do anything tonight but maybe tomorrow.

Morning!!

Nicky you blogged and scrapped !!!! :) :) :) :)
How's the kitchen going? Is it driving you mad? That middle stage is really stressy.
The mess drove me made when we had ours done, but well worth it.

The washing machine part is due to arrive today. Ades working from home so he can do it when it comes.
I really really hope it works.

Denise, sounds like you need a break.

I had a talk with Ade whilst we were away about ways I can possible organise myself even better to make even more out of my day. He started to talk and then I thought''HEY!!'' it's not me that needs to do more and squeeze more in it's you 3!!!
I think I need to get them to help more.

What's happening with Bill's work?

Marie, I can't believe you still have snow.

The kids are back at noon today.
They are going to be hard work. (they've been at their Dad's)
We got a text from Louis at 11pm Monday night saying goodnight and last night I was texting with Hollie and at 8.30pm she said they were just going for dinner. :o
They will be sooooooo tired :(
They just seem to be able to do what they like there.
Makes it hard work for us.

Back to work for me now.
