I am allergic to something I'm just not sure exactly what it is. About 10 years ago I woke up on Christmas day with lips that were swollen close to the size of that of a banana! My lips were oozing, red hot and cracking and so SWOLLEN! I was MORTIFIED! I looked like a freak and had to have Ethan drive me to the emergency room on Christmas eve nonetheless! They narrowed it down to a chap stick/lip balm that I had used (that was all natural ingredients) or sulfates from some red wine that I had drank earlier that evening. I haven't used lip balm since and have had very little red wine!
I like to think that I don't, but I've developed an allergy to some sort of pollen since moving to the Okanagan from Vancouver. I keep hoping it'll go away if I keep ignoring it, but that hasn't worked so far.

OH yes - just had a rant about it in the chatty tread!
Strawberries (eat them anyway) Cheese (eat it anyway) Washing pouder (use it anyway - don´t like dirty clothes) Mold (which is why I allergic to snow melting) Cats Short haired dogs
Well, there is a lot of things, but the only thing that makes me really sick is the cats and the mold.
aspirin cats dogs (but way less than cats) Pollens grass some trees dust/dust mites mold mildew lupron (anaphylactic shock with that one!) ragweed some adhesives
i have done immune therapy for 5 years. Two shots, one in each arm, once a week for 5 years.
Strange thing, no allergies as a kid except the aspirin. Came after the birth of my daughter.
Just cats and pollen for me. Not sure what pollen, I just know something makes me stream and sneeze in summer. Or it used to - I use a nasal spray all year round now (otherwise I'm blocked up the whole time), and it keeps the hayfever right away, thank goodness.
BTW, do you think cats know when you're allergic to them? And therefore make far more attempts to climb onto your lap than onto anyone else's?? Wouldn't put anything past cats .
I have lots of allergies too, but I did shots in each arm as a child and I think it's really helped me as an adult, as it's not as bad. I still medicate with Allegra, Flonase and eye drops as needed seasonally.
Cats (2 came with hubby, though we only have 1 now) I guess I've gotten used to it. It was really bad in the beginning. But he was worth all the Kleenex! Pollen Ragweed Dust Citrus (a little squeeze anyway with a Blue Moon beer) sometimes I get a little rash, when I pet my dog too much (she's worth it though)
hahahaha yes Im happy im not allergic to wine to!!
