Spring into the Weekly Chat - 03/26-04/01

Postby Funky Fairy » Mon Mar 26, 2012 3:37 am

Good Morning.

It's officially Spring this week.
Yay!!!!
It's been such a warm weekend almost in to the 70's and due to continue this week.
I hope it lasts, we are off to the beach for a week next week.

Did you have a good weekend?
What did you get up to?

I went to the health club with a friend Friday evening. It was an open weekend, so I took her along.
We swam loads and enjoyed the spa pool, sauna and steam and then had startbucks after :)
It was so relaxing.

Louis team won footy on Saturday and then we went off to my sisters.
Ronda's book and my CD arrived as we were going :) :) :)
Mum treated us all to chinese that evening. My kids ate too much and felt sick :-\
Then I taught an art journal class yesterday.
I took my brother along who scrapbooks. It was such a fun class, we just chatted and laughed all the way through. Such a fun group of ladies :)

Now I have loads of catching up to do.
Washing machine is on, dinners in the crockpot (chicken in bbq sauce).
I need to unpack my class stuff, I had 2 work deliveries on Friday which need unpacking, online orders from the weekend to pack up, a ton of emails to respond to and 1 magazine feature to work on.
Plus Hollie's school is closed Thurs/Fri which I could really do without.

Busy busy busy...

Hello! A bit scrap hangover here... Had such a great time at the Crop. Made 10 layouts (I think...) and two cards. Had a so much fun company and just miss everyone like crazy already.

Now I´m working on our huge mountain of laundry. And then I need to unpack, and then make some "company" work. I work nights the rest of the week, so I have no time to work on household and company stuff then.

Feels like spring here too! We took the bikes to school and the gym today :D I really need to put the tomatoe seeds down soon. I did it way to late last year...

Going to Winter CHA sound like a lot of fun! Do anyone know exactly when it is, and where. If I know that I can check out what it would cost. It will probably be that expensive that I need to do some serious saving up if I should be able to go. An I guess Sven would be interested to come too, he has never been to the US eighter...

heres another one who has ALOT of laundry today :-D im on maternity leave until augusti so its alot of just being with Gösta :-)

I dont know how you have it in your countries but here in sweden we can stay home with the kids for 1 - 2 years and get "paid" from the gouverment (not much money but good to be able to be home for atleast a year)

So in august Gösta will be 1 year and then his father will be home with him for 6 month and I will start school (i think)

Hi hyaaaa :)

Lisa - how fun about the health club - I should really do this soon again.... ;D
Sharmaine- breeeeatttheee
Donna- sounds like a busy time
Fnyz - in Germany it is also 1-2 years

I had a great weekend - I took saturday finally off- after a long time of no free day and it felt so good not doing anythijng. Well I ran some errands- like buying a new suitcase which hopefully holds a bit longer than the last ones- because -wow was that one expensive- sigh.

Yesterday I worked the whole day on some deadlines and today I am doing paperwork mostly -and we had an electrician here this morning. Finally figured out why we had power problems in our apartment...welll- apparently we have a little ants colony in our power outlet on the roof terrace and they caused the problems with our power in the appartement since some things are tied together. It took us months to find out. LOL. Ants....... who would have thought!. No idea though how to get rid of them on the terrace without killing everything....any ideas?

Nat that is crazy about the ants!

Hannah, I live in the US, no paid leave at all. :( You can get 6 weeks paid if your company provides that but I nor my husband worked for a company that did that. Everyone is allowed up to 12 weeks unpaid and still have a job but most people can't afford that. I love my country but I think it's interesting how so many politicians talk about "family values" and yet we don't encourage or provide assistance for parents to be home with their children when they are very young. I am glad you have that. It's so good for children. What will you be going to school for?

Lisa, your weekend sounds busy but wonderful. I love swimming. I haven't been in while but it is such good exercise and feels heavenly afterward. So glad your class went well.

Donna, what hours do you work during the week? I live for my weekends. :)

Maire, plleeeassse come to CHA in January!!! hope you get lots done today.

Busy weekend here as well. We did some spring cleaning this weekend, I helped a client pack for several hours on Saturday, moved Jameson into his own room this weekend, Grocery shopping, laundry, cooking for this week and finally a little scrapbooking yesterday afternoon. We watched Tin Tin friday night it was so good. I slept till 9am both Saturday and Sunday. it was wonderful.

Sun looks like it may shine today. :) gotta run, have a good day ladies.

Mette - I´m so with you on the working issue... My turn this week, 3 nights starting tomorrow.

Denise - I scanned the flight prices tonight. Beeing a bit early ahead I guess, but prizes was rather high. Will look into it further though... Would love to come! Planted a little seed in Svens head at dinnertime about it all. The NHL season is at it´s best in January... We´ll see how it ends.

Not much going on here tonight. Been to a friend who turned 40. Now I´m crashing in the sofa in front of some hockey. Have unpacked my stash from the crop. Counted my layouts - made 11 :o Didn´t feel like it was so many... Well, you might notice some of them have found their way into the gallery.

Continue haunting you all tomorrow >:D

Just a quick hello...!!! J went back to work today and I managed ok! It feels good to be almost back to normal again.

We had a small babyshower for a friend tonight. We were supposed to surprise her - it's one of my scrapbooking friends - but she e-mailed earlier today and said she wasn't feeling well and probably wouldn't show up. :o Sooo, we had to tell her what was going on... and she managed to show up, after all. :)

What a fabulous weekend here in the UK!!!! Weather was gorgeous!!!

Time off for maternity leave has got better here. I only had 4 months off with my son, who is 13, but could have had a year off with Emily. I went back to work part time after 9 months as I was climbing the walls (I hadn't discovered scrapbooking then!). Back to work full time now kiddies are both in school.

Did lots of walking over the weekend. Stowe house and grounds were open all weekend, which is 10 minutes away! I didnt get any scrapbooking completed, but I did make 3 cards!

Scrapbooking tomorrow!! I want to complete my March yearbook pages!

Our fab UK weather looks set to carry on a bit, it's meant to be 20oC here tomorrow (68F), wow!

I had a great day out yesterday, two classes of 6-7 year olds at Max's school were taken to see the Olympic Park site in London, and I went as a parent helper. It was such a long day for them, and a long time on the bus, but they were all so good. We didn't get to go around much of the site, huge amounts of it is still work-in-progress so it looks like a massive building site, but we got a good look at the outside of the stadium, the aquacentre and the velodrome. The kids thought it was great, and it's cool that they can all say they've been there, even though none of us managed to get tickets to the games! ::)

I've had a crap afternoon.
Louis doesn't like me anymore :(
Sucks being a Mummy at times.
He likes me again now, but I feel sad.

Nic, that trip sounds like fun. How cool.

Sammy, lovely to see you here.
My older one is almost 13. I had just under 6 mths off with her but some was unpaid. She came as my maternity leave kicked in so I had no time off before her and I used to work full time from 4.45am in the morning. Hard going when you are heavily pregnant and getting up at 3am :(

How was your day Anna?

Marie our tickets at LA are around $1000.
I know what you mean about scrap hangovers. I get those too after a crazy scrap weekend.

It's 6.10pm here, dinners done and cleared up. The boys have gone to footy training.
Hollie is upstairs doing homework and I'm about to start back at home and have my 2nd glass of wine.
Cheers!!

I'm so sorry your afternoon wasn't good Lisa. :( I know the feeling. I've been having arguments with Alva and Linus both today and yesterday and it makes me really sad. I want happy, harmonious days... and no conflicts, please.

But it's been an ok day, other than that. I even managed to spend about 30 minutes outside, doing a little gardening. :) And we walked both in the morning and in the afternoon, which was so nice. And I got my CD kit! Yay!

Nicky - it sounds like such a fun trip! We recently watched the TV show... what was it called... about planning for the olympics...? He he... anyway, it was funny... and that's the only thing I can think about, when you talk about the Olympic Park... ;D

Anna, do you mean the 'Twenty Twelve' comedy series? I saw one for the first time a few days ago, very funny!

Sorry you've had rough afternoon Lis, kids take us on a roller-coaster ride at times, don't they? xxx
