JOLLY JANUARY CHAT - (1-09/1-15)

Postby Funky Fairy » Mon Jan 09, 2012 1:19 am

Good Morning Young Daisies!!!!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.
Another Monday morning.

I'm up bright and early to start work and have a fluffy latte at my side.
Just popped some rolls into the oven to bake for the packed lunches to go with the leftover roast beef from yesterdays dinner.
Nothing quite like the smell of fresh bread.

Denise, how did the meeting go?

Anna, do you have a link to your video please?
I can't find it.
I only registered at the weekend. I'm afraid I'm behind as usual.
My life seems to constantly be playing catch up.

We had a pleasant weekend.
The kids were out on Saturday.
It was the first time that we dropped Hollie off in town and just left her. We've always stayed in town ourselves and arranged a meet up time.
The girls arranged to meet up with friends and they ended up going to the cineam to see Happyfeet 2 :)
Ade and I got stuck in to my tax return :(
And yesterday was a lazy pj day.
I cleaned out the guinea pigs and clipped their little claws.
I mopped all the floors and held us all hostage in the family room until they were dry.
We forced Hollie to play on wii party games with us. She always ends up laughing and having fun but has to be forced to do so.
I made a yummy roast beef dinner whilst Hollie baked vanilla cupcakes with choccie frosting and the boys watched footy.
A nice chilled day.

You?

LOL- Lisa- I hava a fuzzy latte next to me too :)
Yikes about the tax return - that is always no fun!
Wishing you an amazing week ahead- with wonderful mail ;)

This is my count down week now. I leave for California Workshops and CHA in 9 days. It looks as if a Tornado went through my room. I had it so nice and clean after organizing it new in November----all gone. A slight panic feeling is present , like i have no clue if I will make it all on time- but hah - in the end everything will work out perfectly my friend always says ;) Hope it stays true.

My ear ache is still here- but I kind of ignore it and hope it goes away...it got better.

Other than that....I'm in a great mood -LOL.

Wishing you all an amazing week!!!!

Grrr - just lost my really long post!

No latte for me - I have a cup of red tea since I´m off to work in a couple of hours. Kids start school here tomorrow too, so we´re having a lazy morning until 10 when I´m leaving them at daycare etc.

Had a lovely weekend. A lot of snow and perfect winter weather. Max ended up staying at Svens parents from Saturday to Sunday, so we asked my parents to take care of Alice and then went to town for a nice dinner and movie.

I managed to skii 10 km for the first time this year yeasterday. I´m proud but a bit waisted today ;D

Anna, I´m sorry that Tuva is giving you a hard time. But as you said, she gets older eventually...

Nat, do I fit in your bag?

Morning.

A Latte sounds nice Lisa. I only drink coffee when I'm out and about. I'm a tea girl through & through.

CHA?! I would love to go there. That would be a dream come true.
Hope your ear ache clears up.

I've never had the chance to have a go at Skiiing. I adore ice skating though.

Had a busy weekend. The boys dad come back Friday night and spent Saturday with us before returning to work very late Saturday night as he was on duty Sunday morning. We all went out for a meal Saturday night with my in laws as its my father in laws birthday today. At the tender age of 72 , he got drunk on 2 bottles of red wine :o good job Martin ( my ex & my boys dad) was there to carry his dad to the car as I'd never have managed it lol.

Harley's at school all day today & being Monday, little Euan is at nursery this morning, so all my housework is done, so that means I've got an hour to have a cuppa tea & scrap :)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Nat, I hope that ear ache clears before you fly.
California sounds so much fun. I love it there and would love to back sometime.
My Dad's just been awarded salesman of the year at his workplace :) and gets a free holiday. His FIL is in his late 90's now so they don't want to leave the US. Looks like it's California for them too next month.

Seems funny you girls wih the kids going back this week. It feels like ours have been back forever now.

Your weekend sounds fun Marie.
Nothing quite like hubby alone time.

Anna, how's Tuva today.
Hollie was abit like that too. She lived permenantly on my boob.

I'm really struggling this morning. I feel really defeated.
There seems to be so many dishonest people out there.
I'm dealing with a fraudulent case at the moment. I'm so upset.
I made up an order for a woman last year. She wasn't very nice and I put myself out loads making loads of stuff for her daughter's birthday. Turns out she's fraudster. 3 months later the money is coming out of my account this week. Even though I have a secure website there's still ways around these things. I've now got to start a police investigation :(
I'm also dealing with stupid work things that I cpuld do without.
Someone trying to return stuff that she never actually bought from me.
It's had someone else return some stuff that she's obvioulsy used.
I'm fed up :(

I love my business and love making things, I just wish people were nicer.
No wonder small business struggle.

LOL- Mison- if you make yourself really tiny ...yes ;)

Oh Skiing- I haven't been in ages- I might break all legs if I try now - LOL.

California is my dream state...I really love it---might be the sun- hahahha- the weather here is sometimes quite challenging - but I#m sure Lisa, you know what I mean, there is a lot of rain in England too, right?
I know what you mean about sometimes wishing people were nicer. It is making a day really hard. I send you a huge hug and Hope it will be solved soon!!!

Oooo Lisa! I'm so sorry! It must be so frustrating. You are working so hard and you deserve so much better than people doing things like that! Many hugs!!!1

Did you get any of the e-mails for the Creative Jump Start Lisa? Perhaps you got the link for Nat's today? If so, you can find the old posts, including mine, if you look at the top of the page under "free tutorials". :) I loved listening to Nat today! We should all do videos, because it's so much fun to hear the voice and see someone... I was going to say IRL, but you know what I mean... :D

Marie, I think you and I both should try to jump into that suitcase and follow Nat... ;D

Tuva is ok, still not sleeping much though. I was reading about babies and sleep today, and it only made me feel bad because we've done it all wrong... again... :P But I try to think that there might be a difference when you're having a baby that is born early or not feeling well. Perhaps I'm only saying this to protect myself and to avoid admitting that we've been lazy when not managing to create proper sleeping routines... or perhaps there's some truth to it. I don't know. Whatever... I know it will be ok and that she'll learn how to sleep by herself one day. :) I had a moment of TOTAL frustration this morning, when she was waking up right away, when I wanted her to sleep... but after that I've been ok.

She is so cute. We're practicing "sitting by yourself". She can do it pretty well and for quite a long time, but she has no idea at all about what happens if she leans too much - to any of the sides, back or forth... :D Suddenly she tries to reach for something too far away and falls over.

I hope you got to scrap some TL! :)

Hello ladies. I am sitting down for a minute to catch up with you guys before crazy day begins, actually it already started. I got up very early to clean my work room. disaster and not due to scrapping or crafting :( I share my space with the only computer in the house and two boys had school projects they had to work on. my goodness what a crazy weekend. I feel like I need some rest.

Meeting went excellent. I got the job. I had to make a bid and it was higher than he expected but totally fair. I explained that we do an excellent job, are reliable and honest. He had talked to another one of my clients and she told him the same thing. :) I am very excited. Saturday went by so quickly, and I had a huge list for Sunday of things to do. I got up at 7am and did not stop moving until dinner time. Then another round. Laundry, making meals for this week, taking down christmas decorations and helping Conner with a school project.

I love Conner, he has wonderful ideas but they are sometimes very elaborate and hard to implement. He wants to do a stop animation film for a book project. great, both boys have made them before but seriously, the scences he is trying to create are ridiculous. I'ts due friday, hope he can pull it off. I don't normally help them anymore but he really needs it this time. we ran around for supplies, built props, had arguments. I am exhausted. ;)

This week is a long one but I am feeling pretty prepared.

LIsa, I am so sorry about your dishonest clients. I like to believe that people are generally good but sometimes it's hard when you feel pretty bombarded. Hope it gets sorted.

Nat, good luck getting ready for CHA and your trip. I will be going someday!!! :)

Marie I am so jealous of your snow. and your skiing! I am just not enjoying this cold/no snow.

Anna, that little Tuva is so cute in your video. Thank goodness when she isn't sleeping right? hope you get to scrap.

off ladies. have a good one.

Denis that is so exciting! Congrats!!!!

Nat! We should try and get together at CHA for dinner or something!!! I two banners I need to get done to leave. YIKES!

Lisa, I am sorry you have to go through that. I try and have faith in ppl but sometimes they make it hard.

I am jealous of your snow, too, Marie! We had a snowless cabin vacay so not much skiing or anything like that. We did hit the water park and pool almost every day! And today it's laundry, cleaning and getting back to work :)

Morning Ladies,

Thanks for the support yesterday. I felt crappy all day.
Staring off a fresh today. It could have been worse and could have been £1000's instead of £100's.

Anna, how did the school run go this morning?
I thought of you when I was shouting at Louis for still not getting ready and playing with lego instead.

Welcome back Ellen.
Did you see the challenge thread following tge Dec challenges? ;)

I feel like I need to get my scrap on, it's been a while. I'm so pysch'd up with work right now though all my energy is going into that.

good morning ladies. I feel a bit wrecked this am. Did not sleep well at all and am feeling pretty worn down. maybe a shower and breakfast will help.

Conner's film is coming out really well. He has done a really great job. I helped shoot some of the scenes last night and then he added some music. He is on schedule. :)

Jameson had caught up with all his schoolwork and is done with his detentions for chatting. :P I just hope he decides to do better. He seems to have a better attitude. we'll see.

Bill's birthday is today! I wish I could say we have something super fun planned for him but we don't. Not today. It's a long, long work day and an office cleaning tonight so we will be done at about 8pm. I think we might stop for pizza for dinner on the way home and then Saturday we are meeting all the kids, grandkids at a chinese restaurant for dinner. That should be fun. I need to remember to make a reservation. There are 15 of us when we are all together. Wow. we have a big family! :)

Hi Ellen, you are going to CHA? that's awesome. Someday for me!

Have fun creating today TL. I have no juice flowing for scrapping.

Lisa, I hope your week improves. You need some ME time. Even an hour. Do something nice for yourself.

I hope your day is ok Denise, despite so much work and being tired! *hugs* Going to the restaurant on Saturday sounds like fun! :) And how cool with the movie making. I'm glad he's on schedule. :)

Congrats to Bill, by the way! :)

I hope you're having fun with the scrapping TL!

Nice to see you Ellen...! :)

The school run was ok this morning, thank you for asking Lisa. :) I was a little late with telling them to get dressed, so I had to repeat "hurry up" about a million times, but I still think we did pretty well... :D And the best thing of all... Tuva fell asleep in the pram when we were on our way to school and then she slept for more than 2 hours! She hasn't done that since before Christmas... :)

I collected my new glasses today, but I'm not sure if I like them or not. I guess I'll get used to them. Sometimes when I look in the mirror I kind of like them and sometimes I don't. They look like this... but I guess that doesn't say much, when you don't see them on me. :D

Nice glasses Anna! Looking forward to a closeup with them on... ;D

Denise - congrats to Bill! Sorry you feel worn out - hope you have a nice day. Going to the restaurant sound fun! I still wonder where my Christmas present disapered, is it usual that hings get stuck in costumes in the US? BTW - I finally had time to look at your graffiti class from the Crop. Guess whos buying spray paint when she get some money!!! ;D ;D

Lis - I agree with Denise - take some ME time!!!

I´m at work. So far pretty calm, but you never know what the hours will bring. Last night was though. We had 6 patients (we have room for 6), and we are only two working. I think I did dream about beeping infusion pumps all day today. Might have been some truck outside.... No crafty time for me so far this week. Just watching Jump Start videos and accumulating creativity! Well, I got a really cool idea for a mini album on my way to work this evening. With luck it will turn out the way I expected. Just need to get the right stuff for it. Long time since I made a mini now...

Well, hope everyone have a great day toaday/tomorrow. Se ya!
