JUNE CHAT THREAD 06/04 - 06/10

Postby Funky Fairy » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:56 am

Hello Ladies and welcome to this weeks Chat thread.

I forgot to post this earlier.
It's a 4 day weekend holiday in the UK and it feels like a Sunday.
We took the kids swimming this morning and treated is all to a Starbucks in the hotel after. :)
We had planned to go to Windsor for a stroll along the river and grab some lunch but it's cold and rainy so we'll do that another time.
The kids are tidying their rooms, beds have been stripped and we are about to cozy down and watch Tangled. You know us Disney fans :) :) :) :)

What are you up to?

Sounds lovely Lisa! I recorded Tangled on the dvr this past weekend so hopefully will watch it this week some time.

Just going to make lunches in a bit and get ready for work. The boys are almost done with school, only this week left. There is so much going on and we are all super busy. I am happy for them to be out of school though!

Worked this weekend. Saturday the restaurant was pretty busy because of highschool graduations. I got home late and slept in Sunday. It was delightful. Then Sunday I worked again, I washed some windows at a clients house. It was the only day I could do it, my schedule is full this week. Jameson helped me so we got it done pretty quickly. He did a great job!

I was itching to scrap last night but after dinner I was so tired I was falling asleep. :)

Enjoy your day everyone. see you later.

Morning all!

I am back from Dallas and my best friend and I had a blast. I picked up a number of really good things at the scrapbook convention and I am excited about using them. I hope to get on a regular scrapping schedule now that summer has started.

The boys are at Vacation Bible School this week which works out pretty well since I still have a few days to work in my library at school since I am on extended contract. I dropped them off just before 9 and will pick them up at noon. Then we will eat a little lunch and they will go back to the library with me till about 4. Jess may pick them up early and take them on home depending on what his basketball schedule looks like. He has his girls going to a number of team camps this summer, so there is lots of practice and travel going on right now for him.

June is pretty booked up with activities, but I am just going with the flow. I have learned to accept that we are a busy family and that makes me appreciate the little bits of down time more.

Two really great positives for us this week is that I have finally reached 12 weeks of pregnancy (I am still in my normal clothes WooHoo! :) and Carter made his 7-8 year old allstar baseball team. So now summer baseball has been extended and that is ok with me because Carter is so excited. Ethan didn't make the team, but we didn't think he would, he is only 6 and even though he is good, there are other, older kiddos who are better. He took it well and the coach has promised him the important job of being the bat boy, so he is happy that he gets to be in the dugout. I am finally feeling perkier and not as nauseous. I go back to the dr. next Wednesday, so I will get to hear the heartbeat again. I am ready to feel constant movement, so I won't be as anxious about the health of the baby.

Back later! The books are calling! :D

I had a fantastic weekend!

Hung out and had burgers with Bo on Friday night, left Saturday morning for Knoxville, where I scrapped the day away with my friend Ashley Wren, her husband made me a fantastic chocolate cake and breakfast the next morning, came home and picked up a piece of vintage furniture that matches my dining room set that my MIL found at a resale shop, went to see Snow White and the Huntsman with my girlfriends, then went out to dinner and had more cake!

It was busy but just what I needed after a long, stressful week. Spending the rest of this week without Bo (he'll be back Saturday), and I'm excited about all of the stuff I'll get done!

Yay for 12 weeks Olivia and I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better!!!

It sounds like you've had fun weekends, Olivia and Stephanie! And your family day sounds lovely Lisa!

Denise, good luck with your busy week! It's so good that Jameson helped you out!

I took the train to Stockholm today, to have my camera adjusted (the autofocus) and I think it actually helped...! I'm a bit scared it'll change, and go back to not working properly, but so far it seems very promising... It only took about 10 minutes and cost me nothing at all! :D I can't believe I've had problems for SOOO long and it turned out to be this easy to fix...!??? But I did try before, I sent it away for repair about 1,5 years ago and they didn't fix it properly that time. :( It made me unsure if there was actually a problem or if it was just me not being very good at handling the camera. Fingers crossed that things will be ok now, it almost feels like having a new camera! :)

I also bought a dress! I'm going to a wedding on Saturday and I panicked when looking into my wardrobe trying to find something. I also panicked when trying to find something to buy today, but then suddenly I walked into a store where I had never been before, found a very helpful woman working there, and suddenly I had a hard time deciding between 3 different dresses that I all loved! :o I didn't expect that! I need to win the lottery and then go back and get the other 2 too... :D

Yay for reaching that first milestone Olivia.
You sound so busy.

How was the movie Stephanie? It really appeals to me.
We watched Red Riding Hood this weekend and all of us loved it.

Denise, have you a quieter week planned?

Anna, glad you got a dress. Glad you got the camera fixed.

Ade's out with work tonight, they are having a meal out.
Feels strange when we aren't together.
He didn't want to go. I always get like that before going out without him too.
Do we spend too much time together??? :)

so glad you are feeling better Olivia. I loved the 2nd trimester. felt like superwoman both times!

Stephanie, I saw that growler of beer on facebook and thought, that looks like a good time. :)

Anna how wonderful to like 3 dresses! I usually hate shopping because I can never find anything I like. Hitting the lottery would be so fun, good luck! and great news about the camera, I remember when you tried to get it fixed before.

Lisa, I do not have an easier week but I have a plan. go to bed early. so far it helps. I need to get enough sleep and then I feel much more able to cope. I do have this weekend off though so that is good. I am hoping for some sunshine to go to the farmer's market!!

going to clean up my room and hit the sack ladies. Sweet dreams.

Morning,

Kids have gone to their Dad's for a night.
I never realised that it was a 4 day weekend when we planned >:( so today is a work day for me.
Lots to do.
But I did get up and bake 6 cupcakes.
I've had an idea in my head and just wanted to experiment.
Spiced pumpkin latte.

Denise, do you feel like you just work and sleep on weeks like this?
I get that feeling sometimes.

Emily, are you getting excited?
I do hope the weather bucks up for you.
It feels so cold. about 50f. and cloudy and drizzly :( :( :(
Remember to take my number with you :)

Hi all,

Not been around for a while. Been a bit manic here with one thing & another.

Glad you've reached the 12 week stage Olivia, it's always a relief x

Loving the Jubilee celebrations back here in the UK. I don't have my boys at the moment as their with their dad (:-() so I've not attended any street parties etc, just watched it on TV.

I have finally bought myself a new laptop, just getting used to it slowly :)

Hope everyone's well x

Superbusy period for us right now too. School ends next week, and then we´re of to Spain on Friday the 15th. YAY!!!

We had a great weekend. Went to "kosläpp" on Saturday (when they let the cows out for the summer) and then the kids stayed with their grandparents until Sunday. Sven & I just crached in front of the TV the whole evening ;D . Then on Sunday we went into town to buy some birthday gifts. Our birthday season starts on Friday the 8th, and then we have 7 birtdays in 14 days... There will be a lot of cake and a lot of wrapping ;D

Glad you found a dress Anna. I´m lucky that we have a big store that sells many of my favourite brands just 10 minutes away from us. They have great service, and you always get the help you want. And the staff knows me - so they know what I like and not.

Lis - hanging with the hubby is great. Not that we hang that much, but on the other hand I don´t have any hubby ::)

Alice is off to the Circus tonight. It will be her first time, she´s going with Svens mother. It´s really expensive, but Svens sister won 2 tickets! Max wasn´t that interested, and it was her turn. I´m working night.

Denise - hope you´ll hang in there. Do you get any vacation at all this year?

Mabe - I would really love a new laptop too.

Olivia - yay for the progress! I didn´t like beeing pregnant at all, so I love hearing that you enjoy it so much.

Steph - do I fit in your bag? Wales sounds lovely - and you might get to meet Lisa!

Hello everyone.

rain again. :( it's getting silly now.

the boys have lots of little end of school things going on today and tomorrow. Bill and I are both working. and I should be leaving now but I am sooo procrastinating!

Marie Sven is your hubby for goodness sake. you aren't married but you might as well be! :) What day is your birthday Marie?

I do not have a vacation this year. It's hard to do when you work for yourself. It's not just what it costs to have one, it's the cost of the time off. If I don't work I don't get paid. It seems horrible but really I don't know any different. I will maybe take a long weekend some time this summer. I have been really trying hard to get more clients. I have been using spare time ;) to stop into businesses and introduce myself, offer my services and leave a card. I haven't gotten anything yet but I will. More work will eventually mean less work when I can hire someone. Then I might take a vacation!

I have been getting 8 hours of sleep and it does make a difference! okay, enough. need to go. have a great day everyone!

Rain here too Denise! It´s our national day today but we haven´t celebrated anything. I sleept until lunch since I´ve been working night, and then it started to rain. Think we´ll just eat some nice food and hang in the sofa in front of a movie. Normal day tomorrow, so kids are in school/daycare.

My birthday is on the 24th...

I really hope you get more clients Densie.

Well, the chicken is waiting to get into the oven :D Chicken, French Fries and tzasiki today. No energy for anything advanced...

A quick hello.... Time is flying by...! I've been doing some scrapping today - yay...! The june kit is so happy and bright! :)

We're leaving for Denmark on Sunday and we've got a long list of things to take care of before we're ready to go. It'll be interesting to fit all our stuff into the car. We have a huge car now, but I'm still a bit worried... :D
