SANTA IS COMING - CHAT THREAD - (12/19-12/25)

Oh my... what a morning! We got quite a lot of snow yesterday and it continued snowing during the night. It made this morning a small adventure. But finally Linus is at school, Alva at daycare and Tuva is sleeping. (And J got to his job staying away from accidents too.)

Well, it wasn't only the snow. Alva often is in a horrible mood in the mornings. She spends 30-40 minutes doing nothing but gruting, screaming and complaning and then she goes crazy when she has to sit alone at the breakfast table and eat, because everyone else is finished and need to get on with their morning.

She has to take her medicin (for her stomach) in the mornings, before having breakfast - it's a powder that she takes with some yoghurt - and I think that plays a huge role in this morning chaos. Hopefully things will get better, only 2 more mornings to go before school is finished and we don't have to rush things for a few weeks!

Well, I need to get started. Not sure with what. Too many options.

I hate it when the day starts like that Anna.

We've had a lovely and busy weekend.
We spentvthe day at my Mum's yesterday with my brother, his partner and my sis and her lot.
It was loud and silly

Today we are having a quiet pj day.
Ade's just making lattes and we are going to watch Snow Day whilst I work watching.

Sounds like an average morning in this house. Alot of grunting, muttering under my breath etc . We had a covering of snow the other day but now we just have rain . Wish it would snow though, make it more Chrismassy.

Glad you had a good day yesterday in Swindon Lisa. Where abouts in Swindon are they?

Pj day sounds good. We are having a scrappy day today. We dont need to go out any where and the boys {and me!} want to craft today. Might send my stress levels up mind lol.

Jameson is back in bed this morning. too tired and not feeling well from a cold. we only have 3 more days of school this week until holiday!

I have 4 more days of busy, long days/nights but then I am free!!! For 5 whole days. I can't even believe it. It's the only thing I want for Christmas. It's actually my present, to have some time off.

need to get going, I have so many christmasey things I want to do. it's okay though. it always gets done and Christmas comes anyway doesn't it?

Well we're getting ready for Christmas here but the lack of snow is a bit of a bummer !! (for those of us that like snow!)

My daughter is home from college for winter break so it was a good weekend having all the chicks in the nest My son has a few more days of school then he is out for a week or so.

I've got to get a move on in the wrapping department and don't even ask about scrapping -Amber snowflake is taunting me! I've not done much on my holiday album but have taken lots of pictures.......all in good time

The day did get better, thank you! But it came and went way too quickly! I did some laundry, started the cleaning and sorting of Alva's room, started a couple of small crafty projects (ideas for Christmas gifts) that I probably won't have time to finish and then suddenly I had to go collect A&L again. It was Alva's last day in a while, she won't be back until January 11th.

I then took all 3 kids grocery shopping. You must think I'm stupid for not doing it with only Tuva, but I have so much to take care of at home too, and I really enjoy my precious time alone with her.

When we got back home we actually managed to get some cleaning done upstairs, among the kids' stuff.

Sooo I guess I did get quite a lot done after all... it's so easy to just focus on what I didn't do.

Tuva has been really upset here now. She does have a cold, but she also got way too tired. I hope she's not getting worse with the cold and that it was mostly tiredness that was the problem.

I hope you'll get some snow Karen! After the morning chaos, I've been so happy about the snow we got here. It makes such a difference.

Denise, I really hope you'll have a wonderful Christmas! You are working so hard!

Wrapping... we need to get some wrapping done here too! We collected the gifts we've bought online today, but I guess it depends on what Tuva's up to, if we'll get it done today or not.

Afternoon all! I always try to jump in early on this thread because I feel bogged down in all the previous comments otherwise. I am getting in later than I planned, but I think people must be too busy to spend time checking in, because it is not super chatty here today...So I am hopping on in!

Anna- Our mornings are always a lot like that. But usually I am the one that is grumpy and yelling at little boys to quit jacking around and get ready for school. It never fails that they end up in the bathroom to brush teeth and hair and wash faces, but end up spending 5 or so minutes playing. Then they wonder why I get so upset with them when I am trying to get out the door. Grrr Jess is very little help because he is not a morning person. You would think after 10 years of marriage I would have taught him better by now! Grrrr

Denise- It is good to know that someone else is still in school. I really didn't want to come today or send the boys to school. But we are here today and tomorrow. Luckily we will break a little earlier tomorrow than usual. When do your kids go back?? We go back on the 5th of January. I am so looking forward to the break.

The weather here is around 40-50 degrees. I so wish we would get at least a little snow on Christmas, but it is rather doubtful.

Today in our 10th wedding anniversary and we have nothing planned to do. Other than the usual day to day stuff. I am going to take boys to basketball practice (2 hours in the gym--Blech!) so that Jess can do/finish his Christmas shopping. He is such a terrible procrastinator when it comes to shopping. I have a few gifts yet to buy, but I can happily say that the main tree is up and decorated. I need to finish a few other decorations in the house and help the boys decorate their trees and then I can relax the rest of the week. So looking forward to the relaxing.....

Speaking of my sister..she is in from VA and leaving today to go to my mom and dad;s and then we will see them all again Sunday.

We did our annual Saturday before Christams shopping madness. It was fun. We always finish it off with some beers And Brain treated us to massages, too!

I snuck in a few presents for myself, LOL! Like a much needed black sweater. We wrapped presents afterwards which was fun so the now the tree doesn't look so bare.

I feel so organised this year.

Tomorrow is cleaning and bed stripping in the morning and Hollie and I have a hair appointment at 12noon to get our hair done together

Karen I am wishing for snow as well. At least it is sunny here though! I haven't wrapped a thing. I need a quiet night and a glass of wine for that, maybe friday.

Ellen, shopping, beer and massages sounds pretty awesome.

Olivia, congratulations! Hope you do something sweet together. It sounds like it would be a hard time of year to celebrate though, hope you find time for eachother. We get out this wednesday and they are back in school on tuesday the 3rd. Not long at all. Not long enough! I will be back to work for a few days when they are still at home but my goodness they are teenagers now, I think it's okay. We will be able to spend fri-the following tuesday together though I can't wait to relax as well. and scrap.

Guess what? good news. I just landed a commercial cleaning job one night a week. It should only take an hour with Bill and the boys helping me. It's great money. a few more clients like that and I may be able to not work as many nights at the restaurant which will be less hours over-all. YEAH!

speaking of the restaurant, I need to get dressed and ready to go. Big Christmas party tonight. Have a good one everyone. see you tomorrow.

Oh hello! Feeling strange to be here this time a day - I mean, it´s in the middle of the night here and I´m at work.

Christmas preparations for everyone I read - not me.... Oh well, I done the shopping list, and will try to go grocery shopping tomorrow when I wake up. Think I´ll take the kids and Sven. It we eat pizza before it hopefully will be ok. I have planned to do the cleaning on Thursday. We´re hosting Christmas this year (for the first time). Everyone will bring food, but I really need to do some serious cleaning. It´s a bit of a tactic to save it until Thursday. If I do it to early, I need to do it again before Saturday.

Anna - I haven´t wrapped the prezzies eighter... And you are brave to go shopping alone with 3 kids. I just know how our trips (me and the two monsters) usually ends. Yelling mom, yelling doughter and awfully silent son. BTW - I´ve ordered a "food bad" now too. We try for one week, starting next week. We took one from Coop - we always buy our food there normally. Excited!

Denise - a well deserved break! And congratualtions for the job landing!
