Hello to all those expert scrappers out there  ;)

What adhesive do you find works best when attaching felt or fabric to thick chipboard?  :-\

I have a similar question- what adhesive works the best for adhering lace? I am having trouble with my journal (it's in my gallery) because the lace keeps slipping off.

thanks!

Miriam, wish I could help!

I am an adhesive junkie- always in search of the perfect glue, so I'm glad you asked this question!  Zots glue dots seem to work best for fabric in my opinion. The "Glue Dots" brand aren't as thick or sticky. Use the largest size you can get away with. I just bought some Zots 3-D glue dots (like pop dots but made entirely of glue) and they are really strong. When adhering zots to felt, it's better to stick them to your paper or chipboard first, then press down the felt. Otherwise you may not be able to get the glue dot to transfer from the roll to the felt, it may just peel off a small layer of the felt and still stick to the roll. HTH!  :)

Making memories sells a ribbon glue but I haven't tried it yet- if anyone has I'd love to know what you think of it.

I LOVE my permanent hermafix for fabric, ribbon, metals, chipboard...ETC! It really does hold everything down. The trick for me is to take time once in a while to clean the dispenser. I really helps it to run smooth. Another tip (that may sound crazy), good old glue sticks hold fabric great. I dont use them for anything but fabric.

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents! Good luck!

Hmmm, I'll try the glue stick next time, I'll borrow it from my daughter's stash. I used Tombow on the felt that I used on my journal, and it held great, but the lace isn't sticking to it. Maybe glue lines would work.

I usually sew the felt to the page. That works like a charm.  :)

glue dots. or staples. or sewing. i've used glue stick on ribbon too, and it stuck (it was crocheted lace too, not flat ribbon!)
