More Avatar Upload Questions

Postby scrapally » Thu Sep 22, 2011 10:13 am

So, I'm trying to load my avatar as well. I am not using a URL, I am using a file from my computer (the method I prefer). I've resized my image to 65x65. But the KB which are SMALL-under 50- are nowhere near 6 (which btw, seems like a ridiculous size requirement?). Even saving at the lowest quality, the KB are 39. Has anyone successfully loaded a file?

What program are you using to edit your photo? I know that PhotoShop (and PS Elements) have a Save For Web feature that compresses images enough that it should work... Just choose that option, and then adjust the quality until it's under the 6K mark.

If you don't have either of those programs, you can try uploading it to a secondary site like Flickr or Photobucket and then use the URL code.

If you have any more questions, just ask!

You know, I tried that feature. I'm not sure why I thought it didn't work. I'll check it out again. Thanks Sue!

Hmmm, well, I have a photo. But clearly I'm still doing something wrong as it isn't clear! argh.

I could NEVER get it to work. My suggestion is to copy & paste your FB profile pic - it worked for me.
